-The guy was on a 6 fight winning streak in the UFC before losing to Mark Hunt last year.
-He has shown he can go the distance, even if his gas tank is a little bad.

I think if he wins against Tybura this Sunday they should feed him someone from the top 5, I'm thinking Overeem. If he can get a win against someone from the top 5 I have a feeling we'll be looking at a future Heavyweight Champion.

He's ranked #7 at Heavyweight.

He could, although his back probs may prevent it.

Dude has the power to knock almost anyone out though.

He would be one of the funniest & most entertaining champs EVER.

How could anyone possibly think that after watching his last fight?

How about the fact that he was on a 6 fight winning streak before his last fight, and the fact that he's the #7 ranked Heavyweight in the world?

It's like you didn't even read my thread....

People have totally written him off around here

But I absolutely think he could become champ. I don’t know how he trains, but if he made strides in his training mindset and discipline, he could shore up some holes and strengthen his cardio.

He’s just a beastly dude. Strong as an ox and fearless. Sort of a wildcard, but at HW, wildcards can do pretty well

Here´s a list of fighters he loses 9/10 times.
Stipe
Werdum
Cain
Reem
Hunt
Blaydes

I´d also favour these guys over Lewis:
Ngannou
Struve
Oleinik

And the new guys:
Volkov
Tuivasa

because i watched the "new breed" Ngannou gas in exactly 3 minutes of the 1st rd in his last fight.

Derrick Lewis gasses, but he's still able to do things after the 1st rd and can knock anyone out about as easy as Ngannou can.

For that he needs to drop the cute act and get serious.

He got his ass kicked by a middle aged obese dude, no he will never be champ..

Nah. He can't get past Werdum. He can't get past Cain. He can't get past Stipe. Ngannou likely beats him. Beast is the man, but he's not good enough.

Agree with this guy. We shouldn't have written him off so soon. I don't think he ever will but like ts said he's top ten and at hw you just need a couple kos and boom your in a title fight. If he beats tybura then kos someone like reem then who knows.

at HW anything is possible. guys moving slower combined with one-punch KO potential in every fight. but it would be pretty lame seeing lewis as champ.

Who is Cain?
Does he fight in the UFC HW division?
I can’t remember ever seeing this person fight.

His best win was a competitive fight against Travis Browne...

His winning streak was comprised of bottom of the barrel HWs, washed up guys and kinda decent fighters.

He beat Grabowski, Pesta and Gonzaga (lol), got a very controversial win over Nelson, beat Abdurahimov, who's decent, and then had that fight with Browne. He's not championship material, he has power and strenght, and that's it. The fact that he's ranked shows how bad the HW division is.
