I know most will say the stoppage was fine but COULD DC have recovered? It would be far from the craziest comeback/recovery Ive ever seen.
He was definitely rocked but he was rocked to the body, he wasn’t knocked unconscious or anything.
Body shots can often paralyze you momentarily. Another couple seconds and he could have been knocked completely unconscious but he also could have got his wind back and grabbed a hold of Stipe giving him a chance to recover.
Considering he was champion and dominating the majority of the fight I think it could have gone an extra couple seconds. I doubt it would have made a difference but like I said I’ve seen crazier recovery’s.
Edit: The question is not whether the stoppage was good or not but if you’ve ever seen someone recover from being rocked like that. I’ve seen similar situations where the fighter survives like Cheick Kongo vs Pat Barry.
