Everyone wants to see Zhang Vs Valentina, but most people think Val would destroy her. I kind of agree, but if you asked me if Val would destroy Ribas, I'd honestly have to say no because this chick is a beast!

I've been a fan of hers ever since she put an end to Mackenzie Dern's undefeated streak and made her look like an amateur. Dern's BJJ is world class, but so is Ribas' and her striking is very fluid. Also, Randa is very difficult to take down; even Claudia couldn't take her down and Ribas took her down with ease.

She can do it all, just like Valentina and she's a big girl, so I don't think Val would be able to ragdoll her like she does to everyone else.

I might be jumping the gun, but from what I've seen so far, Ribas is elite and is a tough fight for anyone.

Ribas would probably put up a better fight than Calderwood will.

Valentina crushes hers but she is as good a challenge as anything else in the division so throw her in there

The only thing Ribas can challenge Valentina for is my love (I think she'd win but I'll give them both a fair chance)

She's too small to challenge her in a fight. 115er vs 125/135 tweener (who also happens to be the best womyn fighter in the world)

I really like Ribas, but let's pump the brakes a little bit. I'd like to see her fight a contender in her own division before we even start to think about her moving up. Also, as far as size goes, she's 5' 3", and doesn't look particularly jacked. She'd be badly outsized at 125, in my opinion.

Why Shevchenko? She's a genuine 115 pounder.

Ribas is in the strawweight division. So why talk about Valentina, who is in the division above? It makes more sense to talk about Ribas vs Weili Zhang, or Rose Namajunas, or Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Ribas is good but not big enough.

Shevchenko only destroys questionable quality opponents. I'd favor her against Zhang due to her size and experience but it wouldn't be close to a destruction.

Dern is very physically strong and should be fighting at 125 or even 135; she wasn't able to use her strength against Ribas and Ribas looked big in that fight, too.

She's a strawweight dude. Looking forward to seeing her challenge the contenders of that division. She is powerful and can do everything and is one of the p4p hottest fighters. Potential star in the making

Everyone is talking about Zhang Vs Valentina, so I didn't think it would be a problem to talk about Ribas. I should be talking about Ribas Vs other Strawweight's, but she's so skilled that I think she could give Valentina a tough fight. I really feel like she's that good.

Fair enough. I feel that Dern is very athletic, and obviously has excellent jiu jitsu, but I question her physical strength. I know judging by appearances is a fool's errand, but Dern carries more fat than almost any else in the division, thus her lean body weight is likely lower than average for a strawweight. The only reason for her to fight above 115 is because she's been undisciplined in her diet (though she seems to have made progress in that regard of late).
On the other hand, I believe most opponents underestimate Jedrzejczyk's strength as well, so it's possible that Ribas is a powerhouse.
