Could a UFC fighter defeat a kangaroo..

That guy saved his dog from the choke the kangaroo was applying on the poor dog.
The Kangaroo attacked him, he reacted. that gave pause to the Kangaroo and the dude left.
Which was a good thing...
Not to disrespect but I think 99,2% of people know this :p But it's true that 0,8% also need to be educated.

Same here.

Hopefully one of our Aussie friends will tell us.

Great thread. Learning more about their fighting skills.

Also. If anyone would be so kind as to propose the ideal game plan vs. Kanga in an octagon it would be appreciated.

I'd assume it was holding it to prevent it from attacking him. It's why he tried to use the kick to cripple the dog once another threat arrived ( the human).

If some random bloke can punch one to rescue his dog most UFC fighters could defeat an angry roo.

To be fair roo's don't fight humans unless threatened.

I use to live on 25 acres and the roos would lay in the sun in front of my house and I could walk by them and they would just look at me.

Also the roo's get a lot bigger than the in the video. They get over 6'6. They would smash a UFC fighter if they were fighting for their life, but are more likely to hop off. They aren't like bears in the USA, where aggression towards humans isn't abnormal. In fact in most zoos in Australia you can walk thru kangaroo enclosures because it is so safe.

We already have one in the UFC

First thing on my mimd after reading the thread title ;)

I wouldn't even pick a UFC fighter against an adult male in the street, let alone a wild animal

Kangaroos have spent too much time focused on boxing training, their terrible ground game would be exposed against any half decent grappler.
I dunno man. You’d have to train shooting for a triple or the tail would keep them upright

My old dog (German Shepherd) chased a kangaroo once and it dived into the river so the dog jumped in after it. He got his ass whooped in there I thought he was gonna drown. One minute the Roo's head would go under, then the dog, then the roo again. Then the dog was under for like a good 30 seconds and he got the hell out of there asap spluttering water everywhere. Didn't teach him though, he'd still try to chase roos after that if he got a chance.

In answer to the original question. A decent size kangaroo would jump out of the Octagon no worries. You wouldn't keep him in there.

Say it was an enclosed cage, I dunno that could be a bad scenario. A kangaroo would lose his shit and go flying everywhere. Those legs are way stronger than ours. If you could tackle it to the ground and then grab a hold of its neck someone like Brock might be able to choke it. But also its feet might rip you to shreds in the meantime. I mean imagine one of those claws ripping into your nutsack and tearing it open.

I wouldn't fuck with an emu either, those are some big birds.

If McGregor evades the front kicks and lands a few of his own spinning back kicks I like his chances

That's a Eastern grey kangaroo , they are the smaller lightweight roo. And a rather smallish one.

Big Eastern greys are about 2metres tall and 66kg. Lightweight

The big buggers are the red kangaroos. They get around 200lbs . 90kg + Over 2metres.

Different .. good luck. One good kick and your dog is fucked and if you get kicked your probably going to be disembowelled.

Also the bustards use their height to hide in water and drown whatever coming after em. Quite a common tactic.

That Kangaroo would fail a USADA test 10/10 times.

Because I have it saved... in terms of birds the cassowary has always terrified me.. emus not as much.. still would not fuck with one though.

They have poor side to side movement, if you step off to the side and round arm (clothesline) there easy to knock over or put of balance. Once you grab there tail or pin them there fucked.
Grab their tail? Good fuckin luck lol, you realise how heavy and muscular those tails are?

The fact that this is still in the UFC forum tells you all you need to know about the mods here.
