Do you see this as a huge factor? Côte has fought upwards of 205 lbs (see Tito) but was a mainstay at 185 and eventually made his way to 170 and has started using his grappling a lot more as of late.

Cerrone is a former 155er who is moving up for whatever reason. He's even expressed interest in the past to move down to 145 to fight Cole Miller over some beef he had with Leonard Garcia.

Anywho, I think we could see a definite size advantage come into play here even though I rate Cowboy's skills higher than Côte. But just like last week, we saw former 155 banger in Stephens compete against former 135er in Barao.

Or will we see the smaller man use his speed?

Not only that, but his experience against lanky bigger strikers. He did alright against Silva and Wonderboy. Even against Belcher.

I could definitely see Cote using his weight advantage to grind Cerrone out against the fence or press for takedowns.

Hope they slug it out at least for a bit though.

Cerrone isn't very fast is he? Just very technical and precise with his striking but he's also bit flat footed and plodding especially early on. I'm leaning towards Cote in this one.

I expect this fight to go similarly to Saunders fight. Cerrone stays in kicking range, but Cote lunges within the boxing range, tags Cerrone and continues his onslaught in the clinch. Cote has not been submitted since 2006 and I expect him to actually dominate Cerrone on the ground if he can take him down.

Never seen them together but I imagine Côte is going to be substantially larger.

Throw in Cote's rock solid chin, and I think it'll be a rough night for Cerrone.

But then again, I've been wrong soooo many times...

Cote has a great chance to win this fight, he is 6-1 at WW in UFC and gone under the radar., he is a very tough fight for Cerrone.

Cote didn't do bad at all vs Wonderboy.
I think Cerrone won't be able to hurt Coté.

+ I think we are gonna see "ncaa" Coté for that fight.
Not "toe to toe" version of Coté we have seen in the last few fight.

30-27 Coté UD imo...

Coté Vs Nick Diaz next would be fun.

Cerrone is taller with more reach. Cote likely weighs at least 10 lbs more on fight night, considering he probably cuts from around 190, while Cowboy is probably 170-180.

I don't think he has a significant size advantage, if any at all.

Cerrone looks fragile at WW, I can see Cote literally doing whatever he wants with him.

I think it's a better fight than most think.

Agree, Cote has looked solid as of late, and Cerrone always comes to fight. Interesting to see what Cerrone's long term future is within the division.

If you skip to 1:32 it looks like he's packed on a bit more lean muscle. Doesn't look as lanky. Cote has a much heavier build however despite being the slightly shorter man.

Coté said in interview that he walk around 210lbs between camp....

Not good for any former LightWeight...

We all have, the uncertainty is what makes it exciting.

Cote has stood with better strikers than Cerrone and faired well. I don't see him shooting except to mix it up and keep Cerrone guessing.

Cote was a heavy hitter at MW (and to a lesser extent LHW by dropping Tito) and doesn't seem to have lost any thunder on his punches at WW. I see this being a very tough fight for Cerrone.

I was thinking the same and Cote is though SOB but if Cerrone is on point I think he can 29-28 Cote
