Hot Take Costa is clever and understands the game

TS was close with the title, but struck out with the OP.

Costa has gotten a lot out his little success. There is something impressive about that, that other fighters could adopt.

Jizzy probably made him "clever" by raping him, because he completely changed his attitude after they fought. He used to be more commited to fighting.

It's odd that Izzy had completely different wins over two of the biggest busts/underachievers:
  • Gastelum, who gave Israel one his toughest fights at MW before Poatan/Strickland...who has lost more fights than he's won since Izzy
  • Costa, who got humiliated by Izzy. He's also had a losing record since then. Neither he nor Gastelum have had any really significant wins since the Izzy loss.
 
Paula collected only 7 paychecks in the last 5 years.

I know the maternity leave after having Izzys kid did a number on her but still should be more active.

Costa fucking sucks. This guy could be cut from the UFC tomorrow and absolutely nothing of value would be lost.

One of the most overrated fighters in the history of MMA.

The UFC is about as much of a sport as it is entertainment. It certainly isn’t all about winning (hello Evloev, Tsarukyan etc.), but you can’t be a bum either.

Costa walks the line of being both liked and hated. People have an opinion of him and he moves the needle (more than a ”fighter B with similar record”).

I like him. I also acknowledge his skills, both grappling and striking and that’s something many don’t. There’s more to fighting than their records! The Murzakanov fight isn’t a great match up for Costa and if he manages to win it… Then he’s in a very good spot in the LHW div. If he loses then it’s weird. No ranking, somewhat of a name…

He didnt get alot.

He just talks, and it doesnt amount to any money because he doesnt fight.

He's basically Dillon Danis, except he never even shows up anywhere to get beat up.
