I think Bo knows better than all of us and if you listen to him carefully, he doesn't feel ready for top competition. He talks about how he would fight Ikram or Khamzat but when the media asks if he wants them next he says "oh no, that wouldn't make sense, we can fight once I have the title or something, it's too soon". Beyond that Bo is really sensitive about any criticism which doesn't scream confidence. He also said he's considering taking the rest of 2023 off and just focusing on training and that we'll be surprised how good he is when he comes back....sounds like he knows he needs work. Bo isn't an idiot but he's lying to himself, he talked up Woodburn who was struggling vs regional journeymen and training part time out of a strip mall gym while mowing lawns. Jamie Pickett is 13-9, the guys on the contender series they found out of the crowds or at local bus stations. Bo talks about these guys like they're legit but he knows, he knows the UFC and probably his own management has been protecting him from any halfway decent prospects.

Bo trains at ATT with guys like Eblen, I think he knows where he stacks up in reality. Granted guys like Eblen and Yaroslav Amosov are amazing resources to prepare for dudes like Ikram and Khamzat, I think Bo knows he needs more time, that the risk of hitting a wall is too real right now.

Khamzat would murder Bo. They should make that fight after he kills Costa since Izzy's bitchass will make another push for LHW to avoid fighting Khamzat.

Costa got ass raped on live tv in the biggest fight of his life. Yet somehow hiring an English speaking comic (his english is fucking awful) to run his twitter and make retarded jokes somehow makes him a better fighter is fucking hilarious. But social media runs the lives of a good majority of ppl that post here so they actually think being funny makes him a good fighter. In reality, he has looked like shit after Romero fight (which was close btw with some having Romero winning). Unable to finish a completely gassed old and once already retired Rockhold and even losing a round to him is absolutely fucking pathetic.
 
It's a very good fight on paper, but both guys are unpredictable so who knows. I'd say Costa has more tools to win, but he's elbowing nurses lately and old Luke for a win while Khamzat can't focus on one division and takes one year brakes.
 
Probably gonna be a squash match.

Agreed, TS. This is my most anticipated fight right now behind Prochazka vs Pereira. You can see a good argument for why either should be favored. Both guys pressure forward so hard and both have strengths where the other is weaker. Costa has shown a great ability to not be held down, and Khamzat has shown that he can be tagged and hurt on the feet. Both guys had hype trains that in one way or another have fizzled out quite a bit, so we'll see who gets to reclaim some momentum. Going to be a great fight.

Borz beat Gerald 35 months ago. That is his best win at MW. Iirc Gerald was ranked 23 at the time. Borz is not even ranked in the UFC at MW. 59 names on that list. And Borz is NOT one of them. Neither is Alex Pereira if that makes any sense?

How does Costa beating Borz mean anything for the MW title picture? Seriously.. How does beating somebody that’s not even ranked affect the title picture?

Costa IS ranked 6 at MW today.

So it would probably catapult Borz into 6th. Which of course would not be justification to give him a TS merit wise. But NOBODY in here gets to make that call. That is up to the UFC. And they do whatever they want according to what makes them the most money usually.

But do you honestly not see the difference between the two scenarios?

Cejudo was not ranked going into the Aljo fight. Even in losing the UFC placed Cejudo as the now number 3 ranked UFC BW. The reason I mention this is because if Borz loses to Costa they can then officially slot Borz in ANYWHERE below Costa in the MW rankings.

And the guy you replied to never said a word about Borz being in the title picture. He just said beating Borz does not put Costa in title contention. And he’s 100% right, imo. He has to beat people above him to do that. Beating ex-champion Rockhold who was not ranked didn’t put Costa in the title picture. Why would beating Borz do it?

And my post history shows I don’t like either of these diva twitter fighting clowns. If they both never fought again, I’d be fine with it.

At least Costa is a harder stylistic match up for Khamzat, than Sean was for Alex.

Khamzat was never dropped and if you don’t believe me, check the stats. It was a clash of heads and Burns pushed him down off balance. You also don’t understand fighting, like at all, by the sound of all your posts. Burns is significantly faster standing than Khamzat (and 10 times faster than Costa). Speed kills. Burns also dropped then p4p king Usman. If Burns is a LW then Whitaker is a WW and grapplefucked Izzy. What has Costa done in MMA?
 
Costs is one of the worst fights for khamzat. Hope he takes this thoe

I don’t think costa should get a shot if he beats khamzat. I also don’t think khamzat should get a shot if he beats costa. But if khamzat deserves one, then costa deserves one.


Sorry if that wasn’t clear. If Leon can get title shots off Nate Diaz (masvidal as well) then yeah sure. Costa can get a title shot too.
