Correlation between mental toughness in the cage and trash-talking

Recently I noticed that generally the fighters who talk a lot of trash are most mentally tough and confident in the cage or in the ring. Is is coincidence or not?
Examples from MMA: Jones, Werdum, DC, Fergusson, Conor, Nate, Nick, Bisping, Cruz, Khabib in some degree (language barrier).
Examples from boxing: Ali, Floyd, SRL, Fury.

Correlation is not a good indicator of prove.
GSP, MM, Cain, Stipe don't trash talk & undoubtedly tough/confident.

Also with modern ufc is hard know who is truly inclined to trashtalk and who feel pushed to do it for business

Trash talking helps people feel tough and motivates them to win against other fighters who are mentally weak.

Once they come up against a mentally strong fighter, their self illusion crumbles, and their anus collapses and they bail out quicker than Wall Street.
