Coronavirus - How is your work handling it?

I work for UPS, delivering small too medium sized packages in the area. We have been briefed about not touching our face (which is so natural you don't even realize you are doing it), washing hands etc etc.. on delivering I am knocking on the door and then placing the item down by the door and then backing away at a safe distance and because everyone is home I am not having to leave failed/missed delivery notes.

Most of the people I deliver too are regulars, so they all know me.. I've spoke to mostly everyone and no one has been tested and they don't know of anyone who has been tested here either, the whole entire thing is so bizarre and strange. News said 6 people have the coronavirus in Kansas but there is nowhere to be tested and no one has even heard or any tests being done anywhere here.. the entire thing is beyond weird.

I still go in, but they made it my choice next week.

Working from home. I normally get to 2 days a week. Mondays and Fridays. This week home with the wife and kids all five days. I'm pretty lucky.

Just saw that my company will be giving paid emergency leave to anyone that needs it for the next two weeks that can't work from home.

I oversee construction and right now we're building a deck on a doctor's house. Worked this week but when I dropped off paychecks today, the guys think the doctor is going to want them to take the next week off.

I work in Pasay. Are you still allowed to go to your workplace?
nope. We've all been working from home. I work for a small IT company though and they were able to provide us all with laptops and mobile wifi. So far we are able to continue operations as normal

Same setup with us. Working from home for a week already.

I work for a university, in an office/project work capacity. We got the email last Monday evening, telling all professional services staff to work from home if they can. They'd cancelled all teaching the Friday before, with all learning now taking place online.

I went in Tuesday, tied up some loose ends, got the laptop, made sure I had remote access to everything and since Wed I'm WFH. The official university line is 'as long as it takes' but we read between the lines and we think they'd like the trickle of workers back in the office by May.....it'll end up being longer I guess.

WFH aka free vacation

Trying to find a new job but nothing seems to be on the market righ tnow

I own a small precious metal refinery.

I'm not happy atm. But it will bounce back.

Let’s just say people in my position for the company I work for are still going to work in Italy. We’re definitely considered an essential business, but unfortunately I’m exposed to a lot of people at work on a day to day basis. Definitely is concerning when I need to go home to my wife and elderly parents after

Same. Our work with co-workers in Italy is business as usual, its almost as if nothing has changed for them. In other countries like Germany/France we get a delayed response.

Currently working on a construction site, new condo tower in downtown Calgary. Very few people from each trade were on site last week so it's been pretty quiet. I keep hearing rumours about the prime contractor shutting the site down but so far it's business as usual for my company. We'll see what happens I guess, I do expect the site to be shut down eventually.

We are only responding to priority and emergency calls. Not going to medical aids unless it is life or death.

We have masks, gloves and goggles in the car and soon will have Tyvek suits.

Starting soon we will have our temps checked before every shift, if you show a fever you are sent home.

It was eerie as fuck at work this last weekend. Felt like the start of a horror movie.

Same here. Unless it's a life threatening call, we wait and let EMS go in first on medicals. Other than that, fire calls are still under the same SoG. The butts pucker when a call for an unresponsive elderly comes in though.

The sad part is so many first responders, front line medical staff, fuck even people working in a grocery store have inadequate PPE. Take care, bud!

Everybody who can is working from home and everybody else is spread out working in the building. Most departments have less than half left int he building so space isn’t an issue.
