I'm just trying to get an idea of how most offices are handling the coronavirus with employees. We are running business as usual now, but I think that is going to need to change soon. We can't really work entirely from home. We are incredibly busy right now which really doesn't help matters.

Can we get a no more corona virus threads policy put in place?

I'm a Project Engineer out here in New Orleans. We are reporting to work but no peer-to-peer meetings. However, New Orleans is about to be fucked by this virus as we have the highest per capita of confirmed cases being reported. From a job perspective, public job contracts will probably be pushed back indefinitely for now along with starting to shut down field operations (50+ people). I honestly think we will be facing a temporary shut down here shortly as this think will only get worse.

At work right now we are looking into moving everything to remote/from home. We have an issue as a research center/part of a hospital with HIPAA and protected information, and we see patients in the facility (no more) so its going to limit what we can actually do remotely but we're going to have to bite it and do what is possible probably starting Wednesday..Those who can do stuff from home (me and a few others) are already doing so. Otherwise its business as usual until a decision gets made on how to actually implement, except no meetings so everyone is holed away in offices.

The logistics are tough however.

My wifes job (she works in advertising) left the office open but encouraged everyone to work from home effective this morning.

Got shut down for a month here in Shanghai, back at work this Monday, I went from 223lbs to 236lbs, had a great time on lockdown now I have to work but no flights to Japan or LA for me for quite some time.

We are only responding to priority and emergency calls. Not going to medical aids unless it is life or death.

We have masks, gloves and goggles in the car and soon will have Tyvek suits.

Starting soon we will have our temps checked before every shift, if you show a fever you are sent home.

It was eerie as fuck at work this last weekend. Felt like the start of a horror movie.

Manila Philippines on lock down. will be working from home. Hopefully this doesn't affect our jobs in the long run.

I just had a 3 day cold, no respiratory issues. just crazy sneezing & itchy/irritated eyes. I'm doing a lot better now.

TBH I think we should all be worrying about the real threat no one is talking about

The clinic I work in is mission essential, so basically I'm working. Same with my wife. On the otherhand I don't think I necessarily have to be here this week. I need to talk with my supervisor. Ideally they can give me something called weather and safety leave so I don't need to take annual or sick leave. If that's the case I'll gladly stay home for 2 weeks with the kids.

Business as usual.
The only slowdown was doing some rewiring in a retirement home because they put all non-essential workers out of the buildings, so we cannot finish the projects inside.

Plenty of digging needs to be done outside though, so the workers aren’t too happy lol

I’m about to find out. Heading into a meeting now. We have a co-worker in my department in quarantine right now. Just found that out this morning. I’m a little bit freaked about it to tell you the truth. If they don’t close us down, I’m going to tell them that I’ll work from home.

We do not have any confirmed cases in our county. The county just had a meeting to determine a course of action. I think our courthouse will get shut down to the public which affects my business. As long as banks keep operating as usual, we'll have to keep open.

I work construction, I'm one of 3 who do all the admin/office/managing work. We have a lot of work lined up but who knows what the future holds. This morning we had our lumber shipment cancelled but our guys are still on site working.

My office is pretty scattered right now. A ton of people put in for vacation, so my office is in a set of 6 that is enclosed in its own area, but the other 5 either are on vacation or took today off, so I am the only one here in this department today. Work also took the free snacks and beverages out of the cafes and breakout rooms, assholes.

Schools have closed for the next few weeks, my son is loving it. My college closed for the rest of the spring, switching to online only, however that has totally fucked us for clinicals and preceptorships. Is what it is.

They have the cleaning guy spray the door knobs with Lysol, boss is self quarantining in his office, I'm doing the same.

Nothing is going to change for me unless they enforce a government shutdown, and that's very unlikely to happen here. Nobody even started taking this remotely seriously until like the end of last week.

I got approval from my manager last Tuesday to let myself and my team work from home. Friday afternoon corporate sent an email advising everyone who is able to to do the same.
