Diamond Princess 3?

Any news on what happened to the one quarantined in Mexico?

They let the ship dock in Cozumel and tested the sick people. Hard to say whether they just tested for flu or tested for coronavirus. Ship just left Miami with new passengers. Gad.

How do you know they aren't doing that? Obviously they are testing SOME people. And will have a million test kits by the end of the week. Not sure how much more you could ask.

Here is a story from someone in Washington trying to get tested, keep in mind there is a state of emergency there:

"I live in Seattle, I have all symptoms of COVID-19 and have a history of chronic bronchitis. Since I work in a physical therapy clinic with many 65+ patients and those with chronic illnesses, I decided to be responsible and go to get tested. This is how that went.

I called the Corona hotline, was on hold for 40 minutes and gave up.

So I looked at the CDC and Washington public health websites. They told me to see a primary care doctor, but there's no information about testing.

I called 2 primary care doctors. One told me they don't know where to get testing, and that I should not to seek out testing. The other one told me to go to an urgent care or ER.

I called the Urgent Care, they also had no idea where tests are, but told me to call the hospital.

I called the hospital. They do not have tests, but transferred me to the COVID-19 hotline to "answer my questions". Since I was transferred on a medical provider line, I actually got through. Progress!

The lady with the hotline was very kind and professional and understood my concern about my own health and those at my clinic. (Which is currently being sanitized). However, I was told I do not qualify for testing. And I was not given a timeline or info on current resources.

So. Who does qualify? Those who have been out of the country in the last 14 days, and those who have had contact with one of the few people who have been tested and come up positive. That's it.

The only way I can get treated is if my symptoms get so bad I develop pneumonia or bronchitis, which is very likely in my case. Then I'll be in the ER and quarantined for several days while waiting for a test and for the results to come back.

This is all incredibly frustrating because I am trying to do everything right in a system that punishes moments of "weakness" like taking days off.

It's also scary to know that I won't be able to get help until I need life support."

I hope this gives you a better picture of testing concerns, how we could be doing a better job etc...

First case in my county.
Be safe bro!
Total for Germany as we speak = 196 , 31 new cases

And they are burying as it's forbidden under Islamic law to cremate. Hopefully they are not following the traditional corpse wash done by a family member.

@Wadtucket was way cooler when he didn't say shit and just liked every post in every thread he views.

The illusion is broken.
You clearly never visit PBP thread during live events. @Wadtucket was never cool :D

Coronavirus testing numbers were taken off the CDC website. Here's what officials said when asked about it.

During the Senate Health hearing on response to the novel coronavirus, Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was asked why the number of coronavirus tests was taken off the CDC’s website.

Schuchat did not explain why the figure was removed, but added:

"There is a difference between persons under investigation who have been tested and all of the tests that we have run. For instance, an individual case, the first 12 cases that we saw here, we did serial testing on them to understand how long the virus was present and when it was safe for them to leave the hospital, or when they no longer needed isolation. We collected multiple specimens so that we understood with this very new virus is it the upper respiratory or the lower respiratory. We've also collected other specimens from them.”
Schuchat also said, by the end of this week, all public state health labs “should be able to do testing.” Schuchat said the CDC is supplying the public health labs with tests “and we are rapidly doing so.”
Completely dodges question...fantastic.

Some of them seem fine with licking religious shrines still, so I wouldn't put it past them to wash corona corpses too. I wonder how their elections are going.

Hey, don't be rude now. I'm the coolest guy in the universe, as Gödel proved.

Toilet paper does matter. You really want to wipe your ass with a sea sponge and then clean it yourself? Although it wouldn't be so bad if you had a source of running water nearby.

More striking, if possible, was the method used by the visitors to the baths to wipe their butts. In absence of toilette paper, the butts cleaning device was a wooden stick with a sponge attached at one of the ends (often, literally a sea sponge), or some type of cloth or animal wool. If you look carefully at the illustrations, you can see the gutters just in front of the seats, where sea water ran continuously so they could rinse their sponges after each use. To make matters worse, the sponges were also public and only the wealthier carried their own.

What if you don't have a sponge and accidentally use poison ivy to wipe?

That's it. I'm getting a Japanese toilet.

Tell her you’ve decided to see other people.

If the Iranian regime did one thing right, it was the banning of dancing. Disturbing stuff.

The idea of shitting as a group social event is more horrifying than wiping your ass with a sea sponge.
