I didn't make suggestions for Sweden, you unstoppable moron. Can you even read? Using them as an example is not demanding or even asking they do anything, it's using that as the model my own country should adopt because their HC system has not been overwhelmed and they didn't have to trash their economy and cause massive unemployment to do it.

As far as Sweden's "nordic neighbors", which is clear evidence that you're just reading shitty articles and regurgitating it like you know what the fuck you're talking about by giving the same examples without even changing the phrasing, you just said yourself THUS FAR, because Sweden is actually taking the problem on while others are kicking the can down the road. You're going to have to come out from under your bed at some point, and when you do, you'll come out to trashed economy and no herd immunity with the virus still around and Sweden won't have either of those problems.

You just said 2 posts ago the entire point was to not overwhelm the HC system, and now you try to pivot to "well maybe their HC system wasn't overrun, but they've had more people get sick than "their nordic neighbors". Yeah, you idiot, because they're trying to pass their hump sooner because it didn't overwhelm their system while others are drawing it out for months. Nobody is delaying the inevitable. As has been said many, many times, social distancing measures have not been put in place to eradicate the virus. They’ve been put in place to manage the strain on the healthcare system.

Thus far, they’ve done exactly what they were intended to do.

I bet the percentage of survival is less than 1%. Let's assume each floor is 10 feet, that would be a 50 foot fall. You will accelerate on the way down and eventually reach a velocity so high you'd break so many bones let alone the internal organ damage. You are underestimating 5 stories haha.

Thats the option we’re taking because the best epidemiologists and virologists believe it to be the best course of action.

Again, a point that is lost on you, the situation in Sweden is absolutely incomparable to the situation faced by the US. Additionally, Sweden HAVE implemented social distancing measures. I’m astonished these points are lost on you. The only nations that even make a vaguely useful comparison to Sweden are the likes of Denmark, Finland and Norway, all of which implemented some form of social distancing (as did Sweden).

As has been repeatedly stated to you, the point of lockdown is to not overwhelm the healthcare system. I keep reiterating this point but you seem to be under the impression that it was designed to eradicate the disease or ‘hope it goes away’.

The UK pushed that "herd immunity" angle at the beginning and soon backtracked. Just a little while before their Prime minister contracted covid-19 and ended up in hospital on Oxygen.

Herd immunity is something you nostradumbass are hanging on to to promote your side of the argument.

First off the health authorities don't know if people can contract the covid-19 virus more than once............... which would make herd immunity null and void.

The health authorities don't know if a positive covid-19 antibody test means you are immune from contracting or spreading the virus to others.

Then there is the case of those that thought they had beaten the virus but were still a spreader........ Juventus striker Paulo Dybala is still positive for the coronavirus six weeks after initially contracting it. He has no symptoms and is even training..... yet he is still positive.

Dr. Joseph Vinetz, a Yale Medicine infectious disease specialist is on record as saying the US is nowhere near the point of herd immunity to the novel coronavirus. He said "If we have 330 million people in the States and 1% are infected, that's 3.3 million people and that still means that 99% of the US population remains susceptible."

Hating the economy <45> lad I work in venture capital. It is probably the single most capitalist industry on earth. My first job post university was literally to give economic advice to asset managers. The economy has been very good to me but will is likely to be facing a very difficult few years ahead irrespective of what course of action we take.
