Lets face it, the current UFC 200 card is really weak. Headlined by a rematch between two fighters fighting outside of their weight class and co-mained by an interim title match of a fight we already saw...zzzzzzz

This card needed a special fight. They were probably hoping for GSP vs Conor, but Nate cucked Dana's plans. And with Ronda being a DNB who wont be available, they need something special to fill this out.

Enter Jones vs Cormier...with the bad blood and storyline already built into this rivalry, we have a match worthy of the bicentennial card. Let Jones use OSP to clear his ring rust and showcase his new powerlifting strength and we'll have all the hype we need for Jones-Cormier 2. OSP wont survive round 1, so Jones will be fresh to fight again.

Imagine Dana's face if OSP pulls a Nate Diaz.

many people predicted Nate. He had many advatanges on paper that were significant factors in the fight. OSP has literally none.

That's a good point.

Sadly, Jon still have to fight, so he will have to park his trailer close to arena since he can't go far from his home..

Hes more athletic and has more power than Jones.

I think this match is a little more intriguing than the original slated match. Jones is coming off a long lay-off, he has had some issues with the law, and this may prove enough of a distraction that could propel OSP to a win. There really could be an upset brewing here - Ala Mousasi v Hall. Ive said this before, if OSP drills his TDD and has decent cardio he could Zombie his way to a win.

However, this is very unlikely. Jones will take him down and ground and pound the poor guy to dust. I am interested to see how this fight plays out.

Based on what? I get the power and athleticism to a degree but OSP played football, jones was a juco national champion in wrestling. What applies more to MMA? Being decent at football? Or being a great wrestler? OSP got taken down at will by Bader and glover, he's pretty fucked

OSP has a way bigger ass. Glutes=explosive power.

If you didn't bet Nate for that match you had 0 mma IQ.
This. The casuals, idiot sports pundits (Rome, Farrell), Conor cult following ate it up. The rest of usu confidently knew what Nate, and the Diaz's for that matter, was capable of.

I don't think jones will be ok with being conors bitch.
No champion over 170 will take this fight as a co main to this atrocity of a pointless without implications rematch. No self esteem if they do.

Minus the part where Cormier has sad he won't be back until August or September. MSG would be the likely event.
