Anyone think his reaction was quite interesting? He was disappointed - which was understandable, and he wanted to fight anyway - which was understandable, but one of the first reactions I would have had after the shock of being told would be: "fuck that cheating piece of shit! I knew he was a scumbag! I knew he would be on peds! Dishonorable piece of shit...etc etc".

So his reaction was strange because it isn't how you would have reacted?

actually sad to see. look the guy just wanted to compete vs jones, PED or not. respectable.

he did fine vs anderson, not the most exciting fight, but well.. it takes two, and anderson was content to do nothing.

So what you are implying is that he was relieved?

His reaction was obviously genuine.

TS....WTF?

Shit thread where TS tells us how he would react. As Cormier didn't act exactly like that something is up ???

It seemed rehearsed to be honest. You can see Dana moving away from Cormiers face right as their interaction starts. Then he has this facial expression and sounds like he said "cameras" before telling him Bones got busted. Im sure DC knew about it before Dana "told" him in the vid.

His reaction was big disappointment, he is not gonna embarrass himself and start calling Jones bad names. Believe it or not Cormier is a really nice guy and the drama is created by Jones, Cormier is tired of it all, he never had to have issues with any opponent before.

Geeze, a lot of hate in this thread. Some sensitive people here today. My point was that he appeared to not be surprised Jones was on PEDS, but rather he was upset he got caught. I assume thats indicative of either his opinion of Jones (i.e not being suprised he was cheating), or the rampancy of drugs in the sport. Ive played representative rugby and one of the first reactions I would have, and I assume many others in my sport would have upon being told the opposition cheated or tried to cheat, would be a utter disdain for them. I just think perhaps its interesting indictment on Jon and the sport, thats all.

Totally rehearsed. Cormier was probably happy Jones tested. No he wont have to fight him.

What are you trying to say TS? What is the point of this thread?

I think the reason that Cormier didn't react that way is that at the top of this sport and sports in general, everyone is on something. Both Cormier and Jones had suspicious drug test results before or after their first fight (can't remember which).

That was third point I was trying to make, but I didn't want to make any accusations. There are many things that athletes take that are not illegal, but are certainly performance enhancing. For example, Bisping has often complained about PEDS, but Rampage told him to shut up and stop being hypocritical because he knew he (Bisping) was taking his own potent performance enhancing substances or modalities on the legal fringe.

Maybe he thought he wouldn't fight in UFC200. It was a two days notice. I would be pissed too if I trained for many months and was told I wouldn't get my huge pay day.

The way he said "I worked so hard.", makes it sounds like he thought it was all for nothing.

I think most guys his age would react this way. He has children, bills to pay, short time left where he can make money in the UFC, and has obviously been away from his family a lot to train for this.. His first thought was probably that the fight is off, all is wasted.
Why would he care about Jones and what he did, or if he is a scumbag or dishonest? Guys at 38 don't normally care about that.
