Cormier Calls Out Brian Stann For Picking Jones

Look at the fallout between Cruz and Florian. DC "joking" that Stann is clueless about picking fights when his job is an analysis does seem like DC took it personal but is trying to play it off.

Not a huge deal either way but it's starting to get a little weird that it's becoming an issue if a commentator doesn't pick his friends. It's pretty hard not to pick Jones in this situation imo. Can't wait for this fight.

I think he's just screwing around. I've always gotten the impression he and Stann are buddies.

Having said that, I feel like Jones is way, way inside DC's head and I worry for his sake that he's going to fight too emotionally again in the rematch. He wasted a ton of energy in the first fight getting the moral victory of taking Jones to the floor and judging from his behavior in the lead-up to this second fight, he's really worked up once again.
I thought he had given up on the win and wanted the moral victory of getting the TD as well.

It's gotta be a tough situation on DC. He definitely seemed like he thought getting the title with Jones gone was going to get him more respect. And who wouldn't be worried about having to go against Jones in general, let alone the tremendous amount of bad blood?

This fight is either going to lead to an amazing high and complete validation for DC or it is going to leave him cemented as #2 and really demoralized. I see it being the latter.

Cormier should take notes from Sonnen/Rashad. Rashad pounded Sonnen's head into liquid but they're still pals

True. Although I think Sonnen pretty much expected to lose. I remember him saying something like he had no idea how he is going to win the fight but he's going to obviously try to find a way.

I'm sure it stings finally getting the strap and then still being considered a paper champ and the underdog. But at the same time it's not that big of a knock on DC. He's really good. Jones is just better. Just bad timing for DC to have Cain at HW and Jones at LHW.

I tend to agree with you. DC might very well be the second best light heavyweight of all time. Unfortunately for him, his career happens to be running concurrently with that of the best LHW fighter of all time. I think Cormier could win this fight, but in order to do so he needs to be calm and focused and put aside all this animosity and emotion he has regarding Jones.

All the best for you and your wife
Just remember, the wedding band doesn't translate to ownership, having your offspring however is title, deed, and receipt...lol. It's all good, Asian women.

Yeah. It certainly isn't out of the question for DC to pull it off. And there is no doubt he has skill. But I agree, he needs to get to take the emotion out of it.

While a big punch is always possible, the most likely scenario to win against Jones is to just keep fighting hard every round and trying to grind it out. He can't let himself get frustrated because Jones isn't going to break mentally or get wore down the way DC's opponents normally do when he is able to impose his will.

I think it's either a 49-48 win for DC or 49-46 Jones. I can see Jones running away with it more than DC edging it out but that's more on the scoring than the overall fight. I expect DC to hang in tough.

how is he not? Jones stripped for not being able to comply with ufc rules and a clown in society.

Please. Jones drinking and driving has nothing to do with mma. Luckily, the real champ is almost back to snatch dc's origami belt.

I think you just wanted to be appalled at something DC said. Its so obvious DC was just joking around that it doesnt need explaining to a 6 year old.

Implying I have to go far and wide to find something stupid DC says. top lel. Just today I found out he begged for a different ref for the rematch because "Herb let Jones stall rounds 4 and 5"

Was he joking when he called Stann "clueless" too? It's totally out of the realm of possibility that he's upset at Stann just because they're analysts together sometimes, right?

Don't see how that's being a crybaby, he's just making fun of Stann for being horrible with picks. Nothing wrong with that, some of you sherdorks are really too sensitive.

Don't disagree but DC's more sensitive then most of the Sherdorks here
