They both share the same camp, the same coaches, and he already said that Frankie is a huge influence/inspiration for himself.

The high paced movement, the punches, in and out, and of course the wrestling, he was trying to outwork Shogun there.

I think he performed pretty well, but he gotta maybe figure his own style later, the guy is stil very green to the game.

Agreed. He wasn't fighting his normal fight. Not smart to pace a fight against Shogun. I was screaming at the tv for him to pull the trigger. It just never happened.

That would imply that he let Shogun maul him, and then he came back and won...

That didn't happen

What else was he supposed to do? Brawl with shogun? Lol that's a recipe for disaster.

He almost beat the pride legend, if it wasn't in Brazil he might have gotten the split win.

Thanks to the Brazilian judges, I was 5-0 for picks on the main card.

He nearly got tko'd two rounds straight and was saved by the bell twice. Of course he'd want to fight like Edgar.

Young fighter against a legend who thrives in brawls. He got a dropped and changed his gameplan to takedowns to try to ensure rounds. He did what he could. it was nearly enough to best a legend in his home country. Kind of a weird fight.
