It is a red and black panel belt. It signifies mastery of the art.
I believe it represents 7th and 8th degree black belts, but I might be off by a degree or so.

We-helll the master is now wearing a coral belt? Im gonna look into that immediately. As an 8th degree black belt, he is long since due, but he hadn't worn it until as late as last year in his seminars in Brazil.

I always though a red and black degree was 8th but my instructor has one and he is 7th
