How do sherbros rate his submission skills? Do you think it should be mandatory for cops to train some form of grappling in order to deescelate situations like this?

I remember when a first responder beat up an unarmed black man in the UFC aka DC vs Stipe 2

Why armbar??...probably the least effective move to use from a police standpoint...WTF are these guys being taught....

Kimura should be a the police officers first choice always...preferably from north south position so that they can remain in control of the suspect and calm him down thru pain and compliance while still be able to get his cuffs or survey the area for oher threats or officers to assist...armbars put you in a vulnerable spot on the street unless ur gunna break it

It wouldn't be my first choice either, but from the position he was already in it was an option, and despite his sloppy execution he used it very effectively to restrain the guy completely.

I would of went knee on belly hoping he rolls to release the pressure and thats when i secure the back and wait for cuffs or cuff him myself...mount unless your striking or gunna choke someone...isnt really gunna work to restrain a suspect...knee on belly encourages them to roll to there bellys which gives the traditional hand cuff position for police
