Conveniently overlooked fact about Romero

You forget one important thing. Romero was only 0.2 pounds with 1 hour to go. For some unexplained reason they told him to go to the weigh ins 1 hour earlier. For sure Romero would cut that 0.2 pounds in 1 hour. Romero never misses weight. He proved that again.

He missed weight two fights in a row. He got his purse fined two fights in a row.

Are you just dismissing reality? What the hell is wrong with people?

Costa didn't clearly win. It was an insanely close fight. Either way would have been fine for me, but I gave the nod to Romero. For Romero to be putting it on these young guns the way he does at his age, it's unbelievable. Romero is the people's champ.

Look how all these people in threads turn to barely disguised Yoel hating rather than clean arguments.

Just a bunch of salty cry babies.
Lol, love me some gay Jesus but he got beat. What is your "clean argument" BTW?

Dude take a look at the pic I posted.

Any doctor who sees a man looking like that is like "LET'S GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE"

An orbital bone breaking and healing weird isn't uncommon, but optical nerve re-arranged? Yoel would have a hard time getting licensed with that unless he pulled a Bisping and just never brought it up.

He’s had some sketchy wins too. The stoolgate debacle with Kennedy, and the Jacare fight.

Sorry, I'm just joking around. Truthfully I'm not aware of any recent optical conditions Yoel has suffered.

Given the way his face looked last fight, it wouldn't surprise me. But if he does, it doesn't seem to have had any kind of negative impact on his ability.

The Yoel/Costa fight was awesome. I don't think there's any way anyone could say it was a robbery. And I don't think anyone should act shocked or incredulous that some people scored it for Romero either. It was damn close I think.

I did have it 29-28 Costa. I thought it was clear, but still close.

Anyway, back to the eye. It's interesting this has happened because Weidman has the same thing going on. Both Weidman and (later) Romero suffered powerful shots to the orbital bone. He wore it well so people don't really pay attention to it, but the headkick that Whittaker gave Romero was a smash. Could be that.

Romero literally had to pull out of his next fight 5 months later because his face was still broken lol

Whittaker pulled out of his next fight too, guess they both banged each other up!

Concussions > broken orbital bone still :)

Sadly my man yoel will never wear ufc gold now. That ship has long set sail.
Too old now and hes picking up losses albeit he is never dominated and they are evenly matched fights even in defeat.

Rob needed emergency surgery for a hernia lol, nothing to do with the Romero fight

But if you want to go that route Yoel had to pull out of his next TWO fights after the 2nd loss to Rob

if romero was as good as his fans say, he wouldn't have to rely on judges to try and win these razor thin decisions all the time...

Why are some people so desperate to spin reality and take the absolute most charitable interpretation for everything Yoel does?

The reality of the situation is that he has had three close fights recently (Costa, Jacare, Whittaker 2), which illustrates that a) he's not clearly the best in the division, and b) he's not amazingly far away.

He's also been unprofessional on multiple occasions.

In recent times, he's almost never been in a boring fight.

That's reality.
