Economy Continued Inflation or a recession?

Yep. When you only have a handful of competitors the competition will be how high can we go.
It would be nice if we really had capitalism, for the things where it is appropriate.

how would cutting rates lead to lower inflation? it would encourage more borrowing and possibly increase inflation
Correct, but it is the increase in the money supply that really fuels it.

I mentioned the Bond problem above. Here's the deal:
The Federal Reserve/Treasury need to sell 2 trillion in bonds just to cover the 2024 deficit.
To make matters worse, they need to refinance the expiring debt/bonds with newly issued bonds. 7 trillion to make the grand total $9 trillion!!! That's about 700 billion a month or thereabouts.
The last two bond auctions went no bid, and certain "clearing house" banks were forced to buy them, 150 billion. How are they going to sell 700 billion a month when we can barely do 150?
There is so much to say about this shit.
Cliffs: how do you sell all those bonds? Lower the price by making the yield higher. To do that they need to raise rates.

This is the true guiding mechanism now. What started the inflation was the assault upon the US energy industry. if the Federal Reserve/Treasury do not raise the money by selling the bonds, it's game over. Default and no money to run the govt. So you know they won't let that happen.
What will they do? Monetize the debt. The fed is going to issue and buy the bonds.
This is a country wrecker. Third world this way.

Or is there another way?

Inflation is going way up. Even worse than it is now.

I took a family of 5 to the movies tonight. 5 tickets, drinks,
popcorn was around a $110. One movie and snacks. 2 years ago this would have been $20-$30
less.
2024 prices are crazy.
