"The UFC has decided to hold three separate cards of the Contender Series exclusively with Brazilian athletes, but chose to film the events in Las Vegas instead of doing it in Brazil.

With a little over a month before the cards, planned for the second week of August, MMA Fighting has learned that at least seven fighters had visas denied and were pulled from their bouts.

The number of fighters affected could still increase since not every athlete was already notified of the issue."

What happened? I thought dana was close buddies with the Donald! UFC done goofed.

Ouch...piss poor planning and all that.

How could that be so poorly considered? I would imagine its a prominent factor anytime international travel is involved.

I'm assuming some fighters lied on their resume, and had participated in some activites that the US doesn't like...

I don't really care.I like watching the Contender show but I really don't care about it now that they are signing shitloads of fighters from it instead of paying decent money to get top talent from around the world. We have enough TUF fighters that couldn't even win a fight on that show.It should be just one fighter signed per event or none if no one's an obvious choice.Signing 2,3 or 4 fighters per event is a pathetic way to stock the roster.

That makes sense, guess some will always roll the dice on career day.

Now lets hope there is a plethora of bodies in reserve. I can imagine they had significant applications.

ufc is truly dying.

Those criminals won´t get a taste of the freedom

Trump bless

Ive had a person in front of me in line at the consulate have their visa application denied. Its heartbreaking. The guy didnt know what to do and started crying, couldnt even walk away from the line. From my understanding it was a vacation trip. I can only imagine what it would be for business related deals. Imagine having your career denied because of some bullshit decision which is barely explained to you...

From my understanding the guy in front of me had it denied because his school diploma wasnt recognized as legitimate. And the official told him to "deal with the institution who gave him that diploma". So basically, the guy studied somewhere, got scammed in the end with a bullshit diploma that isnt officially recognized and then fisted because of it....

Now, the guy could very well have forged that shit, but judging by his reaction i highly doubt it. And the funny thing about it, is that the US president is involved in a educational scamming debacle himself with the Trump University thing... smh. (this was many years ago and trump wasnt even president yet, but the point stands the same)

So your assumption that the fighters who were denied are "bad people" or did "bad things" is precipitated to say the least.

What an absolutely dreadful idea, to begin with.
Just choose the better prospects and put them on the regular show. The enxt instalment has a fight between a 6-2 and a 6-3 guy. 1st round KO or not, neither of those dudes are UFC material.

Key word was "some". Pretty sure "some" fall into that category.

I'm sure it's heartbreaking to be screwed over by the system, but again its not my issue to resolve. I hope everyone gets their dreams...just ain't going to really worry bout it too much. People like to fluff a lot but its mostly words and very little is done. We can all sit on high horses and dictate - doing nothing..

Anyhow, I don't know or really care if they are good or bad people. I only care about dollars for dances. The rest a that shit is some other fools problem. If I tracked every where my dollar came from and went well I wouldn't do much else and likely wouldn't earn or spend much.

I mean how about doing in brazil? if they wanted to be in the US, this shit needed to be addressed way sooner

So, someone fucked up on their app and got denied. More likely than not, he probably forged that shit. Either way, his app was fucked up. In the grand scheme, its his fault. He should have researched his college. That's on him, life is rough.

I never said they were bad people. I just said they probalbly fudged a bit on their resume/application and it has fucked them.
