Conspiracy theory: Michael Jordan's break from b ball was really a suspension for gambling

Maybe the NBA found out he was betting on NBA games. That would have been a massive scandal if the media got proof of it. It would make complete sense for them to ask him to walk away for a while.

especially if he was betting on his own games....

NBA couldn't have their League star exposed as shaving points to cover his gambling debts.... the repercussions would be catastrophic

in Jordans season before retiring the bulls steamrolled Cleveland and Atlanta but then lost 2 against New York and then somehow go to triple OT against Phoenix

I mean if any conspiracy theory had a high chance of probabilty its probably this one

Dude, the NBA was already investigating his private life/gambling! It wasn't a situation where he could just pay it off and go on about business. Pro atheletes aren't supposed to gamble on sports, because they have the ability to shave points and throw games. He was facing a suspension for gambling, which would have STILL drawn worldwide attention to the situation, while ALSO tarnishing the shit out of his image and costing the NBA a lot of money in the long run. How can you not see this?

If they were so worried about money, then they would have swept it under the rug and done anything to keep him playing basketball instead of telling him to go play baseball. Why would they sweep it under the rug if he played baseball instead of sweeping it under the rug and letting him still play basketball? Was minor league baseball in on this conspiracy or something?

Theory makes zero sense. How would walking away from the NBA solve a gambling problem? By drawing more attention to it? Cmon now

And he pursued baseball because his dead father always wanted him to be a baseball player. It was the sport they bonded over during his childhood
Did injuries building up have anything to do with his retirement? I've never followed basketball so I have no clue but considering at how high of a level he played it must have taken a toll on his body.

These conspiracy theories all make sense if you don't know jack shit about basketball and the NBA in general.

Lawl @ non hardcore sports fans thinking they know more than people like @faustian and others.

No that was yet another crazy thing about Jordan; outside of a broken foot that cost him virtually all of his second season he was never injured
