Considering the prevalence of No contests back in the day...

Are you talking like newspaper decisions?

Weren’t no contests for when it would go to a decision but there would be no judges?

i'm talking people fighting overly defensively and having the match canceled. it was common back in the day as there were a lot of people fighting every other weekend for a paycheck. i can't think of too many moderns boxing matches that should have been called no contest, but a great example would be starnes vs quarry or anderson whenever he fought good submission fighters.
