Ive been lifting for about 2 years and have enjoyed it very much but I have gyno its not very noticeable but its still there and I am embarassed whenever I have to take my shirt off in public whether beach, pppl etc I don't have the funds for surgery 5 grand is alot, it just defeats the point of lufting for me knowing I wont have nicely shapped pecs like it should be, Due to this ordeal U am considering taking up brazilian jiu jitsu as I find it very exciting combar sport and sonething.I'd like to learn, has anyone been in a similar situation. What are you guys' opinion on this.?

BJJ will make your bitch tits even bigger.

Look at this dude next to Wanderlei. His name is Gabe Garcia and is a multiple time world champ in BJJ. Look at how bad his gyno is.

lmaoo 😂

I haven't heard of "gyno". I thought it just meant "an appointment with the Gynecologist" or something like that.

What does it mean? Just "man boobs"? If that's an issue, why not just lose some weight?

Why would lifting give you bitch tits?
Roids?
I dont think bjj would help you with that.

"Bitch tits" isn't quite the apt description, as they aren't soft fatty deposits like Bob had in Fight Club. They are actually hard knots of glandular tissue under the nipple that can result from a variety of things such as puberty, medication, or hormonal imbalances. Surgery is the only way to get rid of it. They slice your nipple almost completely off and extract the tissue.

well TS, if you do bjj, your gonna have guys feeling your tits all the time and probably looking at you funny like "wtf bro, you got some titties in there?" so there's that to consider.

I've been through the same situation. Weightlifting is not the reason for gyno and bjj wont help fixing it.

Avoiding going into the causes, I advise you to train smarter. First, you would want to widen your pectoral muscles and add more mass to them, cuz wide pecs can really make your gyno look insignificant. For this, you must never lock your elbows in any of your excercises, i.e. do not rest at the top of all pushing excercises and keep the tension constant. You would like to use lighter weights in than usual and increase the weights every week.
Secondly, keep a tab on your diet. Use a good whey protein for muscle gain.

When above things are in check, you must try shredding the shreddable fat on your chest. Skipping gave me good results. For cardio, do sprinting few times a week.

Many people with gyno actually just have losable fat on the chest, others may have some developed glands, thats what 'real' gyno is. You may have a little but dont worry, muscle would hide most of it.

As for your self esteem, life is too short for that. Most of the endomorphic people out there have some gyno, sometimes we become too self-concious about it. Dont think too much and work hard.

I think you have a knack for bjj and we know bjj is fun so you need not miss out on that. Keep weight training and bjj in a balance and prioritize as you feel.

Best answer yet yes I got the glands never the less its very minimal it kills self esteem, by mentioning widening pactorals did you mean by going wide grip on chest exercises?

See a doctor, work on getting the gyno fixed. Surgery, while common, isn't the only available treatment option. It's the most effective, as it completely removes the tissue, but Nolvadex and Clomid are also used to try and treat gyno.

In any case, see a doctor and at least have a chat about it.

I thought clomid/nolva was used during post cycle therapy to prevent gyno. I didnt know it treated it as well.

How old are you, if you're still a teenager, it might be pseudo-gyno and might go away if you exercise and get your bf% down.

It sucks to have something you can't help that you're embarrassed about, but don't let it stop you from doing what you want. I recommend you start BJJ because you WANT to and you're interested in learning, and still weightlift. Good luck!

1. That's not really their role in a PCT protocol.

2. They can be, yes, along with a newer drug, raloxifene.

Thanks. Ive just started reading up on this. I understand now that clomid/nolva are taken to get the bodies natural test working effiently again. Ill read up on raloxifene.
