The past few weeks while watching UFC repeats on FS1/FS2 they keep showing that Conor promo where he's talking about something to the effect of "The name McGregor is a warrior name....Celtic fighting spirit etc etc etc " .....
That was fine n dandy up to a couple months ago.....Up to this last fight it looked to be the case. He would step into the Octagon, move forward and impose his will n put dudes lights out.
Now, after watching his last fight, that "promo" is just an insult to the viewers intelligence.
I just saw with my own two eyes, this guy drop his bombs on his opponent and instead of Nate going down, he turned around and started lacing him up and down with fresh Stockton slaps.....and instead of sucking it up with that "warrior spirit", he just threw himself at Nates feet and rolled over. Offered no resistance....He was tapping before the choke was even sinched in.....And he's done this before...
I watch this guy get beat up, humbled and slapped down.....basically quit ....and you got fox sports constantly showing clips of this guy talking about how his last name signifies battle, honor and a Celtic warriors spirit.
This is downright heinous.....

Put that bs on ice for a while.....

Anyone else roll their eyes at it??!!??

That was cringeworthy to be fairly honest

You know... Being a Conor fan post Diaz fight takes me back to being a BJ fan back in the day... A lot of people ripping BJ after loses, a lot of nuthuggers, I guess the ripping is warranted if the nuthugging is equally as extreme.

I'm no hater, but that sort of blantantly stuck out in my mind, as well. I saw Holly try to fight thru it, yet Conor tapped before being sunk in. It makes me think he will lose to Frankie if he ever Fights him. And, I'm not sure who will quit first, if he rematches a full-camp Mendes.

Conor quit in there, he knew he was outclassed and chose to tap out instead of go out on his shield.

As much as I loved watching him get beat down, I can't call him a quitter. He got smashed an that's all there is too it.
The comparison to Holly is crazy. She got caught in a submission in a fight she was winning handily. Conor was beaten down.

It is comparable. A fight is a fight and a lot of people have argued on here that conor was winning up until he gassed or whatever... Holly was winning too - so it is comparable in terms of sherdog conor lover logic

Fuck McQuacker. It's gone, and can't ever be regained. Same with Ronda. Her appearance on SNL was a joke. Before Holly I couldn't go much more than a few minutes without seeing her in some commercial. Now I barely see her at all.

Losing to Nate was just so bad for everything Conor was lying about him being able to do. I'm pretty sure most of us realized two belts was really stretching things. Three was outright stupidity, and you had to be a simpleton to even entertain the thought of Conor beating any top ranked WW. Let alone the champion.

We will never hear that nonsense again from him. And I don't even expect him to ever successfully defend the one, and only belt he has. He will either vacate after not making weight. Or he will make weight and lose.

Thanks Nate.

He was talking about the McGregor clan that fought with other Scottish clans against the English. He said his heritage goes back to the Scottish Highlands.

To be fair to him, Ireland and Scotland are fighting countries, that, throughout history, have battled against much more powerful countries and won, so it's not that cringeworthy him saying that.

If thats his heritage, than thats something to be proud of.....but he was bringing it up as to how it relates to himself and him being a warrior....
...He talks about "going into battle" like its a prelude to 300, and then goes out like that??
Someone mentioned how he got beat down.....He didnt even get beat down. He got slapped a few nice ones and two pieced a couple of times.
He saw he couldnt put Nate away, got slapped in return and packed it in. He freakin threw himself at Nates feet n rolled over.
If youre gonna talk all that "warrior" talk, and then go out like that.....Its ridiculous.

Damn, his ancestors are probably rolling around in their graves, wait...

What heart??

Conor is just a frontrunner who quits evident in the fight against short notice Diaz when it doesn't go his way.

So cringeworthy.

Conor "Mayor McCheese" McGregor has the "warrior spirit" of every other ginger midget in Ireland and Scotland. They're only good at beating their wives and shagging their sheep.

It's because they both said outrageous shit that they never thought they would have to eat, and they both quit the first time they met adversity. I liked BJ Penn right up into the point he said "To the death Georges, to the death!". I never liked Conor because he was toxic and I knew he would be humiliated eventually after all the smack talk, I just didn't think it would be so soon.
