I mean how come one of the best p4p fighters has such a bad team.
-Artem with a record 11-12
-Unknown wrestling coach from Moldavia so no wonder Conor's wrestling is not even on B level
-Ido Portal as movement coach is a complete joke.Why not hire Jackie Chan or JCVD to improve movement.

Now let's compare it with Diaz's team
-His brother Nick
-Richard Perez
-Cesar Gracie
All of them world class martial artists.Win or lose with Nate,Conor has to make some changes in his team and hire some elite trainers otherwise he's not gonna improve.
 
gunny is world class too. conor's team as a whole definitely lacks any pedigree but why leave out nelson just so you can make a stupid thread?

nova uniao is about as top tier as it gets but we all saw how that didn't mean much

Yes his team sucks so badly, he basically cleaned out featherweight besides edgar and could challenge for the lightweight title. Get the fuck out with shit, grasping at straws

Gunnar Nelson's claim to fame is being a guy Maia beat badly who at the time was Conor's team mate. And the fan boy excuse oh there is no shame getting submitted to Maia. Just like Conor was gonna crush Nate and now it's the same no shame in losing to a taller longer fighter. Right?
 
Are you telling me that training with Cesar Gracie and the Scrap Pack > Playing touch-butt with that dork in the park?
 
You left out Gunnar. You also name coaches as opposed to training partners. Gunnar is one of Conor's training partners. Shields, Neer, Nick Diaz are some of Nate's training partners.

Different people can get different things out of different people

We aren't talking Bjj bud we are talking mma. If every bjj ace translated to mma champ Marcelo Garcia would own it as would roger Gracie but they just don't. Gunnar has a slick ground game but he shouldn't be the best guy in a champions camp. With that said Conor made it to champion with barely any help so it's actually a complement. But now it will hold him back. The Diaz camp is filled with killers who fought at the elite level and held belts like nick in Strikeforce the same place DC, Rockhard, Woodley and Werdum were fighting in. Shields held a belt and fought for the UFC and Gil was probably the best or top 3 best lw in the world when he was in his prime. No one wanted the gil fight when he was champ in sf having battles with Josh Thomson. They have Cesar Gracie for bjj tho they may have strayed from him, and they box with Andre Ward and another world champion boxer from Phillipines Luspisoto or whatever his last name is. MCG should venture out for better talent to surround himself with.

so you can list andre ward for boxing but you can't list gunnie for bjj? makes sense.

i'm not saying conor has a better camp than diaz (he doesn't); i just said TS left out gunnie on purpose.
 
And Ireland barely had an MMA gym when McGregor was coming up. They were training in sheds.

It's a pretty dumb reason to try to discredit him, given what he accomplished without all the advantages of an established US gym.
