There is no perfect fighter.

Even Jon Jones has the Gustafsson fight, which was practically a draw.

That's what makes this sport so much fun to watch. Anyone can lose. Will be interesting to see how McGregor comes back and the future for Diaz, who has looked great his last two fights.

not mayweather

Everyone loses eventually, fans emphasize loses too much. Me I don't really care if fighters have loses on record as if your fighting the best all the time a few loses will pop up here and there.

Having an unblemished record while fighting the very top competition doesn't last very long.

try again TS. The true GOAT is unblemished unlike that bum who cant fight off his back.

It's one of the biggest negatives of MMA. I'd rather see a competitive fight between two big names rather than seeing some guy sit in his division and beat the Bethes of MMA.

McG as a loss and JBJ has a win?
OK...
I bet you McG would rather have a Gustafsson win like fight on his record than the loss to Nate.

What? So now we can basically go back and turn every close decision into a draw because it lessons the sting of Conor getting bitched out? Don't think so.

And even if it was a draw that still puts Jones way ahead of him. He never got choked out and humiliated. Please don't compare overrated Mcgregor to the P4P GOAT. You are making yourself just look foolish.

there's no shame in losing.

there is shame in acting like a fuckwit for months, shitting on everyone around you, claiming weight doesn't matter and no one can touch you... then getting trashed like he did last night.

had he not acted like an asshole, he'd be getting a lot more respect. now, he'll get bashed to hell, and deservingly so.

Moments like these make me appreciate GSP, Fedor, Anderson, Aldo, and to a certain extent fighters like Cruz and MM, even more.

To hold a belt at the highest level for as long as they did is borderline miraculous. In a sport where you can't get cocky, can't zig when you should've zagged, can't get up too quick without protecting your neck, can't over exert yourself and run out of gas... There's so much that can go wrong and yet, there are some legends who manage to stay unbeatable for the longest time.

It's incredible.

No, I'm just saying the fight was close enough that it coulda been a draw, or Jones win, or Gus win. I scored it for Jones. If you care about the content of the fights, then the Gus fight tarnishes his record. If you don't, then the Hamill fight tarnishes his record. I don't care about the Hamill fight. That was nothing but a positive reflection on his skills.

McGregor didn't get humiliated. He was humbled though. He made some mistakes and he paid the price. The comparison makes sense. Jones showed flaws in the Gus fight whether he won or lost, just like Conor here. That's all I'm saying.

He didn't act like a fuckwit or an asshole. It sounds like he just reminds you of your bullies.

He doesn't trash everyone around him. Most of what he says is about himself, and self-promotion. That's a good thing. Everyone should do that. The negative comments about other fighters are honest, and they hold the purpose of selling a fight.

Some of his sentiment re: weight he probably still believes. I'm sure he still has the "I don't give a fuck" attitude, and will probably try this again if he gets the opportunity. He underestimated Nate's ability to take his shots, and he paid the price for it.

I agree with you.

However, it's less surprising in GSP's and Aldo's cases as they often fought safe. They didn't take the risks that Conor does and weren't as aggressive as him. Mayweather is in the same boat as GSP and Aldo in this regard

I've always said that a true badass doesn't go around telling everybody what a badass he is. There's no need.
