Now you have my attention.

The truth being, this changes very little in way of him owning the 145lbs strap. He was poignant and insightful at the following presser.

“At the end of the day, I am the featherweight world champion. I feel it is right to go back down and remind them of what I achieved and what I done to that division.”

In regards to the Fight 20lbs over his weight division, he settles by saying “I went into Panic mode. There was just a shift of energy, and he capitalized on it. I think w/ a bit of adjustment and recognition that the heavier man can take. It must take more than one, more than two, more than three to put the heavier man away. I think if I go in w/ that mindset at a heavier weight, I will do fine, again. I think next is probably go back down and defend my featherweight crown.”

-What the man has achieved for not only his weight division, but the Sport has been huge in 2015-16.

The EA Cover curse is Bullsh*t! Until dethroned at 145lbs, Conor is still the Man, and Ronda recovers in 2016, assuming she continues her combative career. 9 out of 10 times, she defeats Tate. Again, the Women’s bantamweight division becomes stagnant. Styles make fights and sometimes, you win in defeat, while others lose in victory. You telling me, Nunez looked spectacular against Shevchenko at 135lbs?

The possibilities for UFC 200 are great w/ McGregor vs Edgar and Rousey vs Tate.

Result: Winner –Zuffa!

“I love you, my bitches.” –Ishihara.

His aura is gone. If he can't rock those self proclaimed manlets after her gets back on the salad diet and utilizes a size advantage, he's still going to be quitting quicker than Cam Newton trying to recover a fumble.

I fully expect Cloner to have many issues going forward. It'll never be the same again. He's lucky he can fight guys that much smaller than him and with reach disadvantages. He definitely doesn't have an amazing chin and that ground defense needs a ton of help.

Both Conor and Rousey have brought the sport much attention, which makes it better and inspires more people to start training. They both talk sooooo much that they deserve to have it rubbed it, but I'm grateful for them

We'll see. The mystique is gone. Bloods in the water and sharks will now be circling. The UFC will not shield him as much and multiple fighters at 145 and 155 now want at him more than they did yesterday. I wish him well (as a MMA fan), but I'm afraid that life just got a lot more difficult for McGregor. It will be interesting to watch this playout in the coming months.

Lol jin akutsu changed his name.

Probably out of embarrassment.

I dont think last night really changed anything to be honest.

Yes, McGregor lost, but I think credit to both guys, Nate turned up, got the win, McGregor could easily have pulled out when RDA got injured, and waited for RDA, but took a fight and lost out. I think huge props to both guys for putting the fight on, and it was a cracking fight.

McGregor seemed to struggle with cardio and carrying the extra weight, Nate made the most of his opportunity, but i dont think it changes anything for McGregor. Still the 145 champion and still with a shot at 155. Fighting at 170 was a huge step up even from 155 let alone 145.

both guys come out with huge credit. and for me changes nothing, it was a gimmick fight, a one off.

I had Diaz in this one, but the reviews this Monday are outrages.

These so called experts are sh*t! What do they know about my sport?

Okay, Conor got a push ‘cause he could sell, but beyond that (at least at 145lbs.) he backed it up.

Are there tests for him at that weight division? Yes.

Did he clear out the Division (ala Mighty-mouse)? No!

Is he a capable Champion? Yes.

Let’s look at his resume. –Aldo, Mendes, Poirier, Brandao. <-this is not a crowd of bums.

We are talking the longest featherweight Champ the UFC has ever known, an NCAA All-American, an MMA Bad boy and a Ultimate fighter winner. All, Conor has made it looked easy. The guy’s legit, so maybe he’s not the second coming of Christ. -In this competitive landscape, who is?

What have we learned? Too much Rousey is not a good thing, but she beats Tate 9 out of 10 times.

Again, she’ll be our Women’s Bantamweight world champion.

Conor’s mouth, Skill and competitive appetite do not exceed his height, weight and reach disadvantage.

Again, he’ll be our defending 145lbs. Champ!

The question should be, where does this leave Nate?

He can’t compete at 170lbs for the title. Dos Anjos has him figured out, and he shouldn’t drop beyond lightweight. He’s stuck in limbo otherwise known as gatekeeper status. He can shoot for “Big fights over titles,” But Nick already resides in that space…
