He got his way out by making up that Frankie ran and people will follow it. Recently in his S.I. interview he said he had "cleaned out the 145 division".

If he wants to look at the 155 and 170 division, good for him, go for it but theres no point in holding up 145 anymore. Relinquish the belt and let Frankie fight Max Holloway for the title then Aldo can fight the winner. Him being the champ is almost trivial at this point

Why relinquish the 145 belt when you can put an entire division on hold and everyone fighting there including their fans butthurt as F? It's not like the UFC or McGregor promotion will suffer any financial repercussions.

I hope he fights RDA at UFC 200 and the UFC gives Aldo a rematch 10 months after the KO. Edgar can get his shot at the belt again after the UFC on Fox deal is done. He will only be like 38, Werdum's 38 and he's champ. Edgar will be fine.

That was the only possibility i was thinking. Still seems shitty to tie up the division while he makes his decision but i guess he has the ability to do so. They should at least make an interim belt

So now because of RDA getting injured Conor is going to make it seem like Frankie ran from him because he couldn't take the fight on 2 weeks notice. And nuthuggers everywhere are going to eat it up. Frankie obviously didn't run, he was injured, it happens.

If McGregor looks good against Diaz and wins, I agree that he won't be back at 145 anytime soon, if ever. And if that happens I could only see him fighting Edgar or Aldo as late replacements at 155, which is a difficult proposition for either man.
