MMA, what happened to you.

That's a bold prediction for a fighter that has gassed pretty hard in 2 straight fights against a LW gatekeeper

I wonder what will happen if Conor does not win. Is everybody going to start saying that Alvarez is a giant because he has fought at WW before in his career and Conor is a natural FW. Then we will get an instant rematch while leaving the FW belt on standby.

If this fight happens, and this is the most rewarding, easiest fight available for Conor probably at this point and this era seems to be that of cherry picking times, Conor would destroy Eddie Alvarez.

First time I watched Eddie was in Dream 1, so it was a while ago. I suppose I didn't watch all of his Bellator fights because at times he was fighting scrubs, but I don't think I am unfamiliar with what Eddie brings to the table, which isn't good enough at all from getting destroyed against Conor.

Eddie brings NOTHING that Conor can't just brush aside and just run through Eddie Alvarez. It's extremely obvious what Eddie will try to do in that fight, as well as what Conor will try to do, and when you put 2 and 2 together, you get Eddie just simply getting outclassed and obliterated.

I say this again, given the weight is no issue, Aldo and Edgar is much harder fight than Eddie Alvarez, BECAUSE styles make fights. I can see Eddie matching up way better against Edgar than Conor, for example. I like Eddie too. Probably a lot more than lot of people favoring Eddie over Conor, riding in his crowed bandwaggon after he became a champion. And I probably gave Eddie a lot better chance than most of people in that bandwaggon right now did when he fought RDA.

I think people who talks up Eddie Alvarez at this point has no idea who he is or what he can do and just don't know what they are talking about.

*ps: I think people should give more respect to Aldo around here. Flash kos happen, Randleman/Crocop, Serra/GSP, JDS/Cain, it doesn't necessarily show who the better fighter between the two is or what the rematch would look like in the second go around.
You must be high as fuck, because Eddie would wrestle the fuck out of Conor. It would look just like Mendes vs Conor, except Alvarez has the gas tank to keep Conor on the ground for the rest of the second, and finish him off in the 3rd when Conor wilts.

I want people to overlook EA, the victory will be so much sweeter.
"I fucked up guys, from this day forward I will never doubt Conor McGregor"

Come on man, don't contradict yourself....

Conor has a very strong chance of winning this fight and it is perhaps the best match-up he has in any potential lightweight title fight. The reach advantage of Conor is going to play a huge role in the fight.

Let's get over this false narrative about how bad Conor is in the clinch, how bad his TDD is and how poor his BJJ is...it's getting old and is patently false. His clinch work is average, his TDD is actually pretty darn good and so is his BJJ. These are areas that Alvarez would presumably have an advantage (insert wrestling in place of BJJ).

However, we have to take into account that despite how you feel about McGregor and his bold assertions, that left hand he tagged Diaz with on several occasions would put the majority of the UFC roster (welterweight and lower) to sleep. I don't even know how that would be up to debate.

Closing the gap is going to be a huge issue for Alvarez. And mark my words, if he throws those horrendous overhands he hit RDA with, he will be counter-struck to sleep. This is a MUCH more dangerous game for Alvarez to play than for McGregor who has the absolute superiority in striking. I honestly believe it could be a very early night for Alvarez if / when this fight takes place.

Conor has a punchers chance, that's it. Eddie will trade just enough to keep Conor honest. Let's not forget Eddie is a very potent kicker and already has a leg kick TKO to injury victory and a head kick KO on his resume. Conors stance begs for leg kicks

Hmm, well Conor decimated the FW division and won the belt with a puncher's chance... I like his chances. Eddie is not the guy to beat Conor. His striking isn't good enough and his chin isn't good enough.

Eddie can't Zombie forward like Nate, he won't get near the fence to try his wall'n'stall bullshit.

I think this will be a welcome return to KO'ing guys in the first round, half of Conor's victims would beat Eddie too.

Jose, Mendes, Holloway, Dustin and Nate all beat Eddie more often than not.
LOL...

Mendes, Nate, Holloway, Dustin would all be huge under dogs

Better striker and better chin than Nate. So yes he is the guy. ...he also has excellent wrestler. ....Conor lost to Nate Diaz..... arguably twice. Nate is a gate keeper LW

Better striker and better chin than Nate? you can't be serious... and no, Conor didn't arguably lose to Nate, who is a top 5 LW, twice. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. Honestly, do you even watch MMA, or do you just come on here when Conor fights?

Conor will be a monster at 155....hed tko/ko alverez inside of first.I do think that there a few horrible match-ups for Conor at lw where i could see him losing.
Hes only getting better as a mmartist.

It's pretty funny that now that Conor is most likely fighting Eddie, all of a sudden Eddie is this killer with a granite chin, elite striking and unrelenting wrestling. 1 fight ago Eddie could have easily been 0-3 in the UFC.
