Conor will destroy Alvarez.

At least you acknowledge this. In previous discussions of this match, people make it sound like Eddie has been ko'd a dozen times.
Rational Conor fan here, one of the 5 on Sherdog. I always keep it trill. His chin isn't glass but he doesn't eat clean shots that well. But his recovery is outstanding, kind of like a bigger Frankie Edgar.

Thing is Conor is surgical with his follow up shots, both standing and on the ground. If he did clip Eddie and manage to hurt him in the first couple rounds I think he does put him away. He won't let that fish off the hook.

He may catch him, however, Conor's power is very overrated. That punch he knocked out Aldo with was perfectly placed and timed.

Most likely scenario here is wall-n-stall grind out for the first 2 rounds, then Eddie GnPing him all of the 3rd round while Conor is exhausted, then a stoppage in the 4th round.

Followed by Conor saying he was fighting the bigger man and isn't used to the wrestling.

Reminds me of Pettis vs Alvarez, Conor would not destroy him, and after 2 rounds, its all Eddie.
Second time seeing this, why? I already countered this argument once. Outside of being Southpaw strikers Conor has little in common with a TKD stylist like Pettis.

If this fight happens, and this is the most rewarding, easiest fight available for Conor probably at this point and this era seems to be that of cherry picking times, Conor would destroy Eddie Alvarez.

First time I watched Eddie was in Dream 1, so it was a while ago. I suppose I didn't watch all of his Bellator fights because at times he was fighting scrubs, but I don't think I am unfamiliar with what Eddie brings to the table, which isn't good enough at all from getting destroyed against Conor.

Eddie brings NOTHING that Conor can't just brush aside and just run through Eddie Alvarez. It's extremely obvious what Eddie will try to do in that fight, as well as what Conor will try to do, and when you put 2 and 2 together, you get Eddie just simply getting outclassed and obliterated.

I say this again, given the weight is no issue, Aldo and Edgar is much harder fight than Eddie Alvarez, BECAUSE styles make fights. I can see Eddie matching up way better against Edgar than Conor, for example. I like Eddie too. Probably a lot more than lot of people favoring Eddie over Conor, riding in his crowed bandwaggon after he became a champion. And I probably gave Eddie a lot better chance than most of people in that bandwaggon right now did when he fought RDA.

I think people who talks up Eddie Alvarez at this point has no idea who he is or what he can do and just don't know what they are talking about.

*ps: I think people should give more respect to Aldo around here. Flash kos happen, Randleman/Crocop, Serra/GSP, JDS/Cain, it doesn't necessarily show who the better fighter between the two is or what the rematch would look like in the second go around.

You can have a fucking 'empirical evidence' in predicting the outcome of a fistfight? You win the internet.

Yes. Not sure why that doesn't make sense to you. It means you have witnessed empirically patterns of behavior in both fighters such that you feel confident in making a prediction about the outcome. Do you even know what empirical means?

Still a striker, Eddie put pressure on Pettis, didnt gave him any room to fight and strike, Mendes before gassing was doing something similar to Conor, if they dont give Pettis or Conor space to move, they get very limited in their attacks, wether is the left hand, or TKD kicks.

Get the fuck out of here with intro university class shit.

That's what I did. But it's stupid to talk about empirical evidence in predicting the outcome of a fistfight. You don't know why? What you think is empirical evidence in this case isn't what empirical evidence is.

Why don't you give us your empirical evidence of this fight then? Then we will see how stupid you are, but whatever floats your boat.

Fair enough, but thing is I don't think Eddie's wrestling is as good as Mendes. Plus Conor is better in the boxing range than Pettis by a long shot. Anthony needs that distance to work those kicks and his other flashy strikes.

You realize Eddie has wrestling and takedowns? Something Conor sucks at.

Any result is possible on a fight in such a high level. The truth is just one: connie have to defend his belt, them start to think about a lw run.

Eddie can't Zombie forward like Nate, he won't get near the fence to try his wall'n'stall bullshit.

I think this will be a welcome return to KO'ing guys in the first round, half of Conor's victims would beat Eddie too.

Jose, Mendes, Holloway, Dustin and Nate all beat Eddie more often than not.

Conor will destroy Eddie and make it look easy. Then the haters salt levels will be so high, their heads will explode. They won't even bother making hate threads anymore.

Eddie will press Conor against the Cage and execute takedowns all night long. Eddie is smart enough not to give space to McGroggy.
Yeah, coz all Conor's other vitcims thought that'd be a great idea.

I don't know where I stand on this one... Alvarez has a bad habit of standing with people that he shouldn't and getting knocked down. He gets knocked down A LOT... but then you think about that Pettis fight and if he did the same thing to Conor he'd probably end up tiring the dude out and finishing him... I just have no feel for that fight... gun to my head Conor gets the knock out.
