Conor vs Porier 2 will be much closer

Dustin is too slow and chin can't take Conors left hand. TKO.

just rewatched the first one.... holy fuck, light sparring session by conor, Porier landed one good shot, the rest was a blowout.

This is a really good rematch years after the first. Dustin is a much better fighter than back then, and also at his natural weight. That helps his chin a bit.

At the same time, Conor hits harder at 155.

As much better as Dustin has got, he still starts slow. Conor starts fast.

I favor Conor, but Dustin is good enough if he can make it to round three, without taking substantial damage. He could take over at that point. 60/40 in favor of Conor.

The key for Dustin really is to make it a long fight and he has to avoid damage early. Nate lacked the extra gear to put a gassed Conor down in their rematch, his leg was jacked up and face as beaten already. Dustin has to avoid that.

almost definitely. conor has lost confidence and dustin has gained some. although i do think it's still a bad matchup for poirier.

The first ending was a little fishy.

The shot that put him down clearly hits the back of his head. Dustin just needs to stay away early, be cautions. Get him in the later rounds

Swift to the back of the head.
SMH, it wasn't to the back of the head, newbies.

Herb Dean explains the back of the head rule. Time stamped:

Also, Herb Dean was the referee for their fight...

Are they doing this at 155 or 170?

I guess it depends on what Conor's dad and UFC shot-caller says when he talks to Dana soon.
I believe Dana said it made no sense at 170.

Plus, with the most unlikely case of Khabibs return, this would serve as a contender fight at 155.

I have hard time seeing a close war.

Either Conor knocks his head off in two rounds or Dustin takes over and smashes him in the late rounds.
Impossible that it won't be great to watch though. Conor is one of those guys who just cannot have a bad fight because his fighting style is based on him walking the opponent down. Dustin's worst is probably him vs Duffy but even that was kinda good.

define "fishy".

fish·y
/ˈfiSHē/

adjective

1. a lame excuse used by haters to arouse doubt in to obvious outcomes that hurt their tender feelings.
"The outcome hurt my feelings, it looked fishy to me"

2. relating to or resembling fish or a fish.
"a fishy smell"

Nothing fishy about the first fight. Conor stalked him, measured him, then landed a punch that put him on queer street. Dustin landed a couple of good shots but Conor walked through them like he got hit by Ronda Rousey. Lots of people thought Cowboy was a washed up bag of bones after Conor crushed him, but his last two fights were very competitive so he clearly had some fight left in him. Conor 2.0 just has serious power now at 170. More than he had when he fought Nate.

Nah

I think it ends the same.

Dustin has clearly improved, but he is still gets hit a lot in his fights.

So your evidence that Eddie took a dive is his performance against Conor, and interviews? Do you think all fighters that have bad performances are diving, or is it only when they fight Conor?

As far as the 500k is concerned, that was for Dustins charity, not for Dustin himself. Khabib also donated to Dustins charity, do you think Dustin also dived agains Khabib?

You also insinuated that Nate was payed to take a dive, but he won one of his fights against Conor, so I would love for you to explain that thought process too.

I’m hoping you’re just trolling, but I’ve been on Sherdog enough to know that you probably do believe all this stuff.

evidence ?? you're an idiot ... like a fighter gonna come out and say they cheated .. <Lmaoo>

or an email broke the case wide open <Lmaoo>

Khabib promised dustin 500k before the fight ?
Noooooo!!!

I don't think a terrible lot has changed all things considered. Poirier is always dangerous in a firefight and he has the endurance to drag lessor men into deep waters to get the win. Poirier also has very underrated wrestling, and while he rarely uses it, he can get the fight to the floor if he needs to when the stand up is giving him more problems than he needs (Joe Duffy fight). But then you also need to assume that Conor's TDD is as shithouse as Sherdoggers make out, which isn't the case.

And despite all the gossiping on these forums, Conor is the same age as Poirier, and while he hasn't been as active he has a hell of a lot less mileage. Poirier wears guys down with volume and leaves himself open to shots - and regularly takes them - which isn't a good tactic with McGregor for obvious reasons.

I still think Conor gets it done from the fact he has the obvious hand speed and accuracy advantage...but you can't count Poirier out of any fight who's first name isn't Khabib.

Of course it will be at 155 and especially if the LW title is on the line but if they are fighting at 170 so what is the point of the fight

Nah fuck it..

I'm on the conor band wagon here.. sherdog makes it impossible not to root for him..

Everyone he ever fought was a bum, cherry picked, took a dive, had an off day, was threatened by dana etc.. it's like this little microverse revolving around conor where everyone is a villain in the conspiracy that is mcgregors career..

It's just impossible that he is an elite fighter who will style on you unless you have an atg chin or the best, most dominant wrestling of the division by miles.. assholes can be very good at their jobs.. deal with it..

That said i would love for dustin to catch him.. he deserves it..

No me lad, we're looking at another Alvarez situation.

DP is going to get wobbled so hard he forgets what day it is and then hell be brutally finished in devastating fashion.

Fastest KO record we're lookin at.
Maybe slide in a bet? I bet it won't be the fastest KO
