Let's just go ahead and say it like it is, Nate had about three days to prepare for Conor with media obligations and what not and still finished him within ten minutes, Nate is going to maul Conor with a full camp but that's not the point....

The UFC after Brock Lesnar retired struggled to find it's next big PPV draw they had a good short term replacement in Chael Sonnen but with Chael's two losses to Anderson the allure was starting to die down then the UFC got a gift from the heavens when Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor came along and finally the UFC had not one but two stars who could make them boat loads of money on PPV and what does the UFC do?

Destroy them, well destroy Conor, Holly Holm pretty much took care of Ronda but with Conor the UFC is setting himself and themselves up for failure when Conor loses to Nate again the casual audience isn't going to give a damn about him, the fans will see him for what he really is a guy who cuts an obscene amount of weight to fight guys much smaller than him and the red panty night and all of the perks that come with fighting Conor will be reduced greatly if even still there, hell we already saw Conor's bandwagon crash and everyone fled the scene with another loss what will Conor do? If he can still make weight his only hope is that Frankie succumbs and takes a dangerous fight with Aldo who already beat him that way Conor doesn't have to face that or the more likely option Conor simply can't make 145 anymore and will be forced to stay at 155 and fight guys his own size....which we know by the Nate fight he can't quite do like he thought he could. The smart option would be to have Conor go back to 145 and just admit he bit off a little much more than he could chew, try to regain some of his lost glory by fighting and beating Edgar but nope, they're setting him up to fail, again.

And after Ronda retires in the next year and Conor is stripped of his aura and the fans see past the false lies he's been built upon Zuffa will be right back where they were two years ago, desperately searching for their next star.

Dana and Joe Silva needs to go. They are terrible at their job and are holding this sport back. Fuck them

Does ZUFFA really have anything to do with the match making?

Aren't they about to be bought for $6 Billion?

Theres always going to be another star. Before conor it was ronda, before ronda it was jones, before jones it was lesnar, before lesnar it was gsp.

just shut up and enjoy the fight. You know your ass is going to be glued to the conor vs diaz 2 thread like the rest of us sherbros.

The UFC should hire you!!!! Ur so smart.

Oh I thought it was just a joke.
Man 2016 will be a very great year for Nate.

This might be an unpopular opinion because of the UFC's success, but youre right. Most of the best moves the UFC has made, were opposed by Dana White.

Actually I won't, I didn't buy it the first time around and I'm not going to buy it after Nate on 11 days choked him out.

Injury riddled Cain and Mousasi/Brunson ain't sweetening the pot either.

People give Dana credit for building the UFC but it was him that OPPOSED the Ultimate Fighter, which SAVED the UFC. He's a joke. The fighters are what make the UFC awesome. The corporate brass like Dana fucks everything up

Claim stripping fighters of private sponsors and forcing them to wear corporate uniforms is to make the sport more professional. The run a complete circus, where they allow mcgregor two non-title fights at different division, when he has legit opponents to face at FW.

man i just realized conor/diaz 1 was only two weeks ago. what threw me off is the hate/time ratio. the proportion of celebratory conor hate following the fight just seems like it wouldn't have been able to fit in just 14 days.

He also said women would never fight in the UFC.

If he had stuck to that he'd never have had Ronda and all the money she's made him, guy has no vision.

The UFC is also shit at building stars. The only develop stars with insane shit talkers like Conor and Ronda. But they can't actually build them based on merit

Imagine all the great and talented champions we've had that the UFC failed to market correctly. Anderson Silva should have been a mega star internationally. Jon Jones is being marketed like shit, he should be pulling Conor numbers if the UFC was half was competent.

Didn't read.

Pretty sure Zuffa knows what they're doing.

Well, they just did a 1.5 million buyrate with a fight that only had 11 days to hype. I think they are in pretty good shape. I dislike the fight as much as you do but for Zuffa this is about dollars not meritocracy.

I figured this was the best move to re-establish Connor and erase that lose, but I thought they would make it 155. I think it being a 170 helps Diaz in a big way. Dumb move to not make it at 155. Unless they have GSP in the crowd ready to hop in the cage and call out Connor after he wins, but I think at 170 he loses.
