This is all a ruse. Conor needed to get out and this is how he and the UFC brass made it happen. They all came to their senses and knew Conor would lose the fight and some of his star power. They made it look like he didn't want to promote but he likely didn't want that fight after everyone and their mom was saying Nate with a full training camp and at 170 was just plain crazy.
Thoughts? They might have even known Jones and Cormier would replace Conor vs Nate.
This makes more sense to me than Conor missing a press conference and Dana tossing him from the card, the biggest card ever, just because he wants to prove a point or be fair to the other fighters. Dana let Nick Diaz get away without playing the game on a few occasions and there was nothing at stake. He even got to fight GSP in the end. Why else would Dana trash his card?
