But missed a lot of shots. Diaz did a great job of turning and keeping his chin out of range. Obviously Conor should have moved and attacked Nates legs and body. Conor needs to also learn leg locks as it was a gift there rd one. I cant believe someone as smart as Conor came to that fight without the tools. I mean he was totally rellying on landing his left, and roundhouse kicks that are easy to avoid. Hmm wonderboy could have same problem in his fights.
I wonder how a genius in unarmed combat like Bruce Lee would have closed the distance, Bruce would have side kicked Nates legs and body and when he slowed up then go for chin when his boxing is as I say tired. This is why Conor tired then Nate landed the significant strikes before Conor panicked.

Thanks for the insight John, apologies but it's gonna be much harder to get your blackbelt here than Ireland.

Bruce Lee himself would of got choked by Nate.

That pool noodle training didn't help much.

Conor was walking forward in a straight line eating shot's desperately trying to land that left hand albiet cross/jab/uppercut. Dont tell me that was not one of the main reasons why he lost that fight. I could have got a heel hook, a leg lock, hell even a half nelson. Shit gimme a million and i could have equipped Conor to sneak that fight. Listen guys Conor has great standup and he was eating the shots first round and to all the haters that are saying that Conor couldn't take Nates shots, anyone can get knocked out, anyone... listen you fail to realise that when those strikes were landed second round Conor was tired, it's not as clear cut as you might suggest. We need to see more fights to fully see what his chin is like above 145. Those 25 pounds in that short time in a fight was a mistake too.
My ref to Bruce Lee was simply wondering what his genius mind would come up with to equip Conor with the correct tools.

Yeah i know Bruce was 120 pounds. I am simply wondering what his genius mind would have designed for the tools for this fight.

Stupid roundhouse wheel kicks, risky for a catch and takedown, ill advised plus sapping energy. No doubt an attempt to land it on Nates temple. But the Elephant in the room is the non existant gas tank after full training camp.... 25 pounds in that short time messed him up.

It's not only that. It's not only what Conor did wrong. It's what he did right, and didn't commit to enough- as well as what Nate did right and comitted too.

Conor had his rear foot in the air and iirc it seemed like it was in the air the majority of the time he tried to (overextended) land his rear hand. He rarely used his lead hand and it seemed to be near useless in that fight due to bad habits like Hendricks. There were times where his head and lead foot were so close to striking range if not within it and he wasn't engaging- worse he was in ranges where he could get hit and not strike back with something meaningful (Danger Zone whether he was in it, just past it and close to mid range, or just behind it while Diaz advanced). For the most part he attacked in straight lines and attempted counters in straight lines and ignored the subtle lining up of his shoulders for the most part (Nate avoided Conor's line ups and got out of range when he didn't so it wouldn't matter)...I only like to counter in straight lines against fast opponents if I have a major speed advantage (something Conor seemed to not have with movement after all) or am subtely lining up my shoulders off of a straight line. I like to take an angle while they load up (most people amateurishly do that) and strike them while they over extend (which Nate did, but didn't get punished for enough and he himself punished Conor for) again..Nate gave Conor hardly any chances Conor could've taken without looking brazen/foolish.

Majority of the angle taking along with other veteran tactics employed by Nate.

He had commitment to lead/check hooks (Diaz bro's money punch and trademark of their counter game) and body work, not many noticed how often he punched the body and even kicked it some iirc and everyone with a mind for fighting knows those clinch knees FUCKED Mac up. He went "UGGGHH" according to Nate and Nate is an honest man. He started slow but fought the best fight he could after doing nothing but partying and chilling along with what would be considered light work outs for a Diaz bro. He mixed in peppering 1 - 2s (stiff for little Mac), stinging and stiff-wrist Stockton Slaps with power 1 - 2s and all that combined with the body work he comitted to and the taunts drained the fight right out of Mac. Any Diaz fan/hater knows their game and what results they get with it.

Honestly, it may be Captain Hindsight's doing but...Mac seemed to look as decent as he did in the first due to him starting so fucking fast and Diaz taking it so fucking slow. Even then...alot of telling signs, Diaz was measured and patient- picking his shots and landing to the body as well. Mac was all hyped up whiffing overextended lefts and ill measured spinning kick and hook kick attempts. He landed two uppercuts nicely though, especially the 2nd where he caught Diaz's head going downwards as he landed a power straight to Mac's midsection which seemingly made Mac stop uppercut attempts.

well, you're his coach, so you're to blame.

I think you guys did a great job planning for Nate. Cripple the lead leg. The uppercut, left hook, straight on Nate's 1-2. Conor did an excellent job closing the distance when he wasn't sloppy. Trying to break your opponents wrist before the fight was brilliant too! Something that has been bothering me, what was going on at 1.50 left in the first when Conor dips and lounges at Nate's face. Looked like Nate almost got headbutted and caught a check hook which opened him up for it.

Wtf is going on in this thread. Tell me this isnt a page of TS talking to himself with sock puppets.
