I am a big Conor fan, however seeing recent twitter activity eg. “get on your knees and beg me” has made me wonder how long he would stay relevant if he stays inactive. I am aware he will always have a level of pulling power given his celebrity status and somewhat cultish fan following, but we have seen the featherweight division relatively bounce back with the emergence of max and lightweight seems to have healthy depth beyond reliance on Conor. At what point or after how long will Conor’s relevance reduce to the point where he is forced to come back?

As soon as he runs out of money we will find out how relevant he stayed

In a few years he will be a footnote in MMA history. Tremendous waste of potential.

Really think he will fight UFC in 2018. Still has fans and haters willing to pay for his fights. Add to his millions while he can. Because two killers are waiting. #DEFEND OR VACATE

Conor? Who da fook is that guy?
If he didn't win in the last event ufc held he was never any good.

Well Khabib ignored him and said he wanted to fight tony. Then Conor oil to twitter to fish for Khabibs attention. That’s a sign that he is becoming less relevant right thete

He is the only irrelevant male belt holder in the UFC I think.

Well I think if you McNugget nuthuggers would stop making threads about him every few hours, maybe, just maybe we could move on to other things and let his relevancy die as it should.

He is enjoying the good life. Eating whatever he wants and partying. Its going to be harder to comeback the longer he does his partying.

Conor haters need to beg him to come back. Max beating Aldo seems hollow as both were soundly beaten by Conor.

Only to nuthuggers does it seem hollow. To everyone else Conor is long gone from 145 and has no relevancy there anymore.

It really seems like combat sports fans have short memories. He's already getting a lot of heat from traditionally pro conor news sites. I feel like if he doesn't fight in 2018 you won't read about him any more.

Say what you want, but the dude has always sought out the biggest challenges for himself and maximised his earning potential. As soon as the ufc agrees to what he wants financially he will return to fight whoever he feels will be the biggest fight, whether thats at lw or ww as he goes for a 3rd belt.

As long as the UFC keeps sucking up to him and don't get his belt, he will have pull.
But he has also been very lucky.
With Tony injured and not defending his belt, it allows Conor to keep his for longer.
But as soon as Tony is back, if COnor is not willing to fight, he will lose his belt.

Then it all depends if the UFC will make Conor & GSP... which will be a fucking circus (again) and will make UFC look terrible... but what matters is that it will (probably) sell.... of course, depending how long they will wait to make this...

Hes so relevant that even ppl who never watch MMA knows who he is. He could shatter Twitter records with 1 post. Jesus....the ppl here are serious indy douches.

Khabib doesn't show up half the time and when he does fight Hes a fuckin wrassler who cant finish anybody. Yet...hes loved by this crowd. LOL...WTF?

He will always be relevant in MMA

GSP took 4 years off. Brock had 5 years between Cain and Hunt fights. Both their comebacks were massive
