Conor NEVER believed he could beat Khabib. Look at the evidence.

He's on a large guarantee per fight, he fixed his price in a contract, when his stock was high.........

He will not be fighting at LW much longer, if he doesn't win the Khabib rematch.

1) Khabib rematch
2) Anderson fight at as fat as Conor can get.
3) Nate 3 @ LW or maybe a new 165Ib belt
4) GSP @ that possible 165Ib belt

Not sure yet about 5 and 6.......

There's not one thing in his performance that would indicate a 2nd fight would go any better, him calling for a rematch was just foolish pride talking. Conor cannot fight in the thick of the LW division with just a lone left fading hammer from Flw to Hw everybody can punch so Conor needz to learn more hurting skillz.

Conor is more a exhibition specialty type fighter for GSP's Diaz, guys that don't pose deep threats to him, not guys in the heat of a division taking on all comers.

"He'll fight hard for the first 2 or 3 rounds, but I already broke his spirit."

What does that have to do with the fact that Tyson, the world's leading authority on fighting intimidated people, says that a beaten fighter will still try hard for the first 2 or 3 rounds even though they're done inside?

He had to make sure he can still draw so he picked a safe opponent for a guaranteed high drawing event. If he did a card and it failed to sell it would probably be over for him. It's the only leverage he has over Dana, and the draw is all they care about so they let it happen.

The other side of it is he thought he could make Khabib crumble mentally which is what all the nonsense was about.
And the final part is coming from a shitty gym and generally being an idiot.

Nahhh conor would be a draw no matter who he fights. He could fight a nobody and casuals would still watch if the UFC promoted it. As far as casuals were concerned, khabib was some paper champion claiming Conor's belt as his own (they were wrong).
