Conor & Nate criticize Khamzat's win: "Lame, Boring, SCARED!"

Avatar checks out.

Wrestlers wrestling strikers does not mean they are "afraid". Taking the fight to where the skill gap is the greatest is just common sense, Khamzat is simply able to do it quicker than most. Holland tried his hardest to stay on the feet, does that mean he's terrified of fighting on the ground?
Holland is openly scared to fight wrestlers. he was saying w D-rod that he was excited it would be striking. horrible example

I don't think preferring to fight strikers means that he's "scared" of fighting wrestlers.

Agree with both Conor and Nate, diving straight for the leg is bullshit, at least stand and bang for a bit. You are paid to put on a show, especially after the card had to re-shuffled to accommodate your lack of discipline, the least you can do is put on a show rather than being as risk-averse as possible.

Lol. Grow up.

He crushed Holland and made it look easy.
He was supposed to. A prodigal wrestler beat a guy with no wrestling. Big whoop.

He didn't do anything that remotely redeemed him or anything he wasn't supposed to do.

Spending 3 rounds slowly picking away at someone from range is "putting on a show"?

i only used scared bc the post I quoted used it. it isn't the right word, but he certainly knows that high level wrestlers can control him with ease

It's sad when MMA fighters don't appreciate MMA.
Its always gonna be an issue for people to disregard that dimension

Conor vs Khamzat would look like Austin vs Mini-me

And the other half of people should look for bjj and wrestling tournaments?

That argument only works if a grappler can’t take a striker down and then complains that the striker “was afraid to grapple”.

Fact of the matter is the fight starts on the feet, so a striker starts off with the advantage. If he’s not good enough to keep it there, it’s on him.

I don’t really understand why people care. It’s not like Khamzat exploited a rule and just held onto him on the ground with minimal activity ala Herring/O’Brien. He took him down and finished him quickly by submission. In a real fight, it’s not a boxing match either. If I see a dude take a guy down and ground and pound him into hamburger hill, I’m not gonna say “haha he was just afraid to stand and bang!”

It’s mixed martial arts. Win by whatever is necessary within the rules.

No - MMA fans and fighters should be able to live with fighters fighting in the way that makes the most sense for them.
For Khamzat, that will often be wrestling, for a guy like Conor, that would almost always be striking.

That being said, the amount of striking fans who complains about grapplers is several times as big as the amount of grappling fans complaining about strikers (if the latter group even exists!)
