Conor McGregor vs Frankie Edgar, who would win and how?

He either finishes or gets finished in all his fights within 1 or 2 rounds with the exception of the Holloway fight. He slowed down considerably after 1 round with Diaz and Mendes.

Okay, I can get behind that statement. It's definitely not his strong suit but I do think he's better on the ground than most people think.
You make a good point but I think Conor connects with a good punch and takes Frankie out. I don't see it being an easy fight for Conor but I think he wins via TKO.

If he connects clean, I can see him starching virtually anyone at FW.

BUT - Frankie is a damn good boxer as well, and not real easy to catch clean.

I think he can slip Conors big shots JUST enough to not get taken out, and get him on the ground. From there he is at another level imo.

It wasn't once, he was gassed out bad against Mendes too, lucky for him Mendes gave up at the right time. Imagine Conor in a 5 rd fight, I foresee a zombie.

At best, Conor has gone to a 3 rd fight only once in his career without gassing out.

I totally agree with you. I like to have a laugh at Conor's expense every now and then, but this is mostly because of some of his fans - and I'm not including you, you're a reasonable guy. I really appreciate and admire him.

Conor KOS anyone at FW. Too much power and too big for FW's. Frankie wouldnt be able to take him down that easy and conor would hit him with a left eventually and rock him bad then finish him. Just because he lost to nick diaz doesnt mean frankie would win. Conor is too big for him and too long of a reach with good boxing and power.

He may not need to as far as other FW's are concerned but that's exactly why Frankie is a tough matchup for him. Frankie may have the best cardio among all mma fighters, if Conor knocks him out in the first - great, if not then there is not a chance in hell that he can keep up with Frankie for 5 rds. It will come down to whether Frankie can take punishment from Conor in the first or not, and if he can I see a clear cut victory for him. Conor's weakness is wrestling and cardio, and those are Edgar's strength, I see a bad stylistic matchup for Conor. I am hoping Edgar beats Aldo though since Aldo doesn't play into Edgar's strength.

McGregor starts really strong but either keeps a decent pace or fades depending on the opponent and how hard he is pushed. If Edgar survives Dat Left Hand in the early rounds, I can see him grinding McGregor to a Unanimous Decision.

I think it may look similar to the Edgar vs Swanson/Maynard fight.

Also watching DBZ on Toonami and Krillin Bum ass is about to get Toasted as usual.

First... VERY good assessment TS! I agree with much of your post. It would definitely come down to Conor not landing that left in the first 2 in my opinion... That being said, I just don't see him being allowed the opportunity in this fight. I voted Edgar by sub and I'd personally place it in the 3rd. He is just too good at managing space with footwork. And we've all seen what happens when Edgar gets tagged. It's like a wake-up call.

I voted Frankie by TKO, but I could see him nabbing a submission.

Frankie utilizes his great footwork, maybe getting taking a few on the feet, but avoiding most of the big ones. Unless Conor has made some serious improvements, Frankie will destroy him on the ground. It might take 2-3 rounds, but he will do vicious things to Conor.

I also think Frankie might surprise Conor on the feet. He throws a lot of punches while he's moving, but when he puts torque into his shots he has power, certainly enough to get Conor's attention and possibly hurt him if Conor gets too loose.

Interesting fight though, and you can't totally count Conor out, but it certainly looks like a very difficult matchup for him, and like Diaz, Frankie won't be phased by Conor's antics.
