It makes sense for a poor fighter to celebrate a big payday as it would be his first ever taste of big money but for an already wealthy fighter like Conor its embarrassing.
Ronaldo, Messi, Lebron, Neymar , Federer, Djokovic etc all have more money than Connor , achieved 10x more relatively in their sport and yet are hungry for more accolades rather than a paycheck. Because superior athletes aim for enhancing their legacy rather than enhancing their already massive bank balance.
