He's an excellent Featherweight, but he's not even close to proving that he's an all time great.

He'll be a top ten LW for sure, but I doubt he'll ever be a LW champ. If so, something tells me that his reign would be pretty short.

How is this controversial? Why is stating the obvious somehow hate when it comes to Conor?

THERE ARE ALMOST NO OTHER FIGHTERS WHO ARE WEIGHTCLASS TRANSCENDING TALENTS.

It's not a diss, it's simply a fact. There are Lots of very good fighters in the UFC. Conor is one of them. There are very few GREAT fighters in the UFC. Conor--like most of the rest of the roster--isn't one of the greats.

I'm not sure whether anyone will ever do it again. The sport has grown so much since Bj

This really isn't a bold thing to say given that Conor is only 7-8 fights deep into his UFC career.

IMO, if he somehow beats Nate, then beats Aldo again....then he can be called on of the greats. If he starches the FW GOAT twice....then you simply can't argue against it.

He's actually an average lightweight who is willing to absolutely kill himself and his body, and has crazy dedication and is able to make 145.

He's not even really that good of a fighter. Average bjj, average wrestling, average kicks, average cardio, average defense. Pretty much average or below average in everything except ability to make 145, decent timing, and ridiculous power in his left hand. His boxing actually isn't even that good, just a monstrous left hand.

You only relaised that now?

Frankie is still in the running. Keep in mind that he was a very undersized LW. Otherwise, DJ and Bones are the only fighters that strike me as realistic options.

Are you willing to call Dillashaw one of the greats?

Those are some mighty big balls for a Sherdogger!

Inb4 you get hard flamed over nothing.

he just doesn't have the style to go up a weight class and be successful at all long term. He is a one handed power puncher engaging in an activity that historically diminishes your power, and the Aldo fight has to ensure that nobody is running at Mcgregor recklessly ever again.

Someone like Dominick Cruz, someone like Jose Aldo, someone like Jon Jones have styles that would play well a division above, ones that aren't reliant on power.

I bet the entire UFC roster respects your opinion.

Are you willing to call Dillashaw one of the greats?

Yes. He took out the BW GOAT twice.

What other criteria should there be? Barao was 32-1 and hadn't been beaten in 10 years. And h

If you need more than that, then I think your criteria for being a great is too high.

If you don't call Barao, Cruz and Dillashaw all time BW greats.....then who do you call that?

Weidman beat silva twice, would you consider him a goat? I know the second fight ended in rare fashion but I don't think he inherited Andersons resume with those wins. I think if Conor beat frankie, aldo again and mendes again then I would consider him a fw goat. The nate fight does nothing imo other than drag him down if he loses.

Frankie may become a 2 weight champion yet.

Chris Weidman starched Silva twice, but I think he has a long way to go before he should be considered to be one of the MW greats...

Fair enough. My criteria for being great are too high, then. But it seems to me that the meaning of greatness requires high standards for it to have any meaning.

GSP, Fedor, Anderson, Bones, are all at least two levels up on Dillashaw, if you ask me. Cruz and Frankie are at least one level up. He's still got time to build his resume, of course, but he's got some work to do still.

Do you guys actually watch other fights?

You do realize Weidman defended his title 3x....he took out Anderson twice, then Machida and Belfort. He passed Franklin for title defenses.

It's basically Anderson, then Weidman, then franklin.

If you guys don't think Weidman is an all time great at MW, who are you possibly putting ahead of him?

i'm not 100% sure he would be a top 10 LW in the UFC

It seems you were talking "all time greats with all classes combined" or actual overall GOAT. In that case, I would agree that Dillashaw and especially Conor are not even in contention for the top of that list at this point in their careers.

I was simply speaking of all time greats in terms of their respective weight classes.
