is in-between classes.

150 would be perfect for him.

The cut to 145 takes too much out of him and the guys at 155 are too big.

It's 155. It's a shame he's got to go back to 145 now. But he has no choice. Unless he retires.

He's about the same size as Bendo and many other LW's. He's the perfect size for it.

155 or fighting at 170 against fighters who do not cut weight.

155 is perfect for him.

This. Nate is one of the taller guys at 155, most of them are pretty much his size. Sure, he won't be taller than his opponents, but he won't be this much shorter either.

The inbetween weights really only makes sense for everything over LW because of the gaps being so much bigger. When you're talking 5 lbs, you're talking a good sized shit and a jog around the block. Conor needs to be at 155 lbs.

Nate looked a little taller but definitely not as thick as Conor. Size had nothing to do with this fight.

Size had a lot to do with this fight. McGregor had never fought that heavy before and it showed.

he had problems with nate's length
but nate wasnt bigger, he didnt hit harder or even faster

There's only three top fifteen lightweights that have a longer reach than him. Nate just happens to be one of them.

if size was an issue, he would've died against RDA.

conor was a huge featherweight. he was largely successful there because he was much, much bigger than his opponents. the first time he faced someone his size that he didn't have a reach advantage on, he got destroyed. it's not the weight class that's his problem, it's his skill set.

He is naturally around 170, so 155 is his ideal weight class, but like many fighters, he likes cutting weight to beat up smaller guys

what you are saying was worth considering but I just disagree. Conor is same height as RDA and has 3 inches more reach than RDA. Give Diaz props man. He is one of the most unfinishable fighters in the UFC. Conor executed an outstanding gameplan tonight. The thing is that Diaz is just hard to knock down. Conor would be dangerous against anyone at Welterweight. And LW is, indeed, the ideal weight for him. Conor's problem tonight was only partly size. The problem was that on his back he was just far inferior to Diaz. Diaz is a monster grappler. The last time Diaz was submitted was in 2006 when he was 20 years old. And the only person to finish him in the last 9 years was some mediocre fighter by what could be argued was a fluke brought on by a careless Diaz.

One day McGregor will just keep his hands up and block punches I tell you
