Right because Conor McGregor has been around ZERO boxing his whole life.
You're the one bringing Pop's basketball coaching credibility into this conversation
Comparing Conor's professional boxing coaching ability to Pop's basketball is lacking merit
Conor doesn't need to have the same level of boxing experience as Garcia to give him advice is my point. He's another brain. Sometimes you need a completely fresh perspective for something to click.
The fact that you guys don't understand that shows that you've never done anything at a high level before.
his advice after the fact is moot
if it's about branding and promotion, conor can be valuableYou don't know what his advice was.

if it's tactical or technical boxing related, i stand by my comment about lacking credibility and expertise
We do know. He advised Garcia to shoot his left hook when Tank looks to change levels. It's sound advice in theory but in practice it's unlikely to work. For starters, Garcia has a bad habit of telegraphing his left hook which enabled Tank to see it coming from a mile away. He often throws it naked (no setup) as well which only made it that much easier for Tank to defend and/or counter. You don't know what his advice was.
everyone is an armchair qb on this forum, including you,You don't know what he knows and you don't know what was said or how it was received.
You're just armchair quarterbacking because you lack high level experience in anything.
We do know.

ironically conor is the armchair qb in this exchange
we know that conor is an attention whore, with one professional boxing match, and got outstruck in his recent mma matches and lost to nate diazNope
If only we could have seen the entire exchange.

Based on what we already know Conor told him to do if they rematch. This isn't complicated. Maybe he said more but that's speculation. I doubt he even bothered to mention Garcia's fundamental deficiencies being to blame for why he couldn't land that left hook upstairs the whole fight. Reason being, the one piece of advice we are aware of prescribes Garcia attempting to exploit a single given scenario on Tank's end rather than actually addressing Garcia's own underlying flaws.Based on what? An instagram video? What about what they talked about before and after the camera person hit record?
This isn't complicated.
It really isn't complicated. Garcia is a fundamentally unsound fighter who doesn't recognize the flaws in his own game. At the elite level if all a fighter literally has is a left hook that they always telegraph, often not even bothering to set it up, then naturally they can't expect to land it frequently in a fight—if at all (which was the case here against Tank). It's entirely counterproductive to their goal. It's probably a lot more complicated than what a lot of you want it to be. Folks are just looking for a reason to bash McGregor because that's what neckbeards do on forums.

As far as we can tell Conor overlooked this in offering his "solution," either out of convenience, or his own ignorance. He's used to seeing fighters with these same underlying issues all of the time in MMA so why would he even think to address it in Garcia's game? It's likely that he has been desensitized to it by now. As a fight fan I've even grown accustomed to witnessing it in MMA where slopfests are unfortunately considered "high level" striking showcases.
If anything else was even said. We can only work with what we've got and that's merely one piece of seemingly myopic "advice" provided by the Irish lad.If only we knew what else was said between them.
