News Conor gives another update. Cheerful mood. Scooting around

So he had stress fractures going into the fight and like I said before, he had bad technique and kept kicking the knee instead of kicking the calf or thigh.

He didn't wear shinguards..What was Conor thinking?

He says about midway through this that he trained leg kicks with no shin pads, and kicked sparring partners knees a lot, and had stress fractures going into the fight

That leg was conditioned to snap like a kit kat bar. It wasn't a specific check that did him in. Called it

I wonder if he tried conditioning his shins during this one camp to throw leg kicks. But all you’ll accomplish in 3-4 months of shin conditioning is adding some un healed micro fractures.

That’s my theory at least. He tried too much shin condition on too little time, and came into the fight with micro fractures ready to be snapped

I still like my own theory that McGregor tried to do a bunch of "shin conditioning" in the lead up to the fight as he clearly planned to low kick a lot. But you can't condition your shins in one fight camp. All you're gonna do is go into the fight with a bunch of micro fractures ready to snap

Probably felt like he needed to kick more in order to actually win. Also doubt he expected to completely snap his leg even though he had stress fractures. Probs thought he could just kick through the pain

You're right but still, if you know you have a micro injury, the last thing you should do is to heavily use that part of your body. Just being cautious. I heard Kavanagh he had a micro injury, had a scan which confirmed it but the doctors said it was 'no big deal'.

It's also probably difficult mentally to base an entire camp around kicks and leg kicking and at the end when you are slightly injured to abandon the entire game plan and camp.

Of course he would say that he got injured in training and went to the fight already injured.
Predictable as shit.
What a tool.

Edit: wishing him a speedy recovery.

Conor is literally known for never having pulled out of a fight during his UFC run.

Say what you want about the man, but when he signs on the dotted line he shows up.

Wish him all the best and a speedy recovery, as he said he's going to have ups and downs but am sure he has the mental fortitude to get through it. Still say anyone hating on the guy for what he said in the ring needs to just give him a bit of a pass I am sure after the leg break he was channelling rage to get him through the pain while being interviewed.
He said all the shit before the interview and before the fight

Its his own damn fault though for training with a bunch of Yes-men and a Jujitsu coach who claims to be an mma coach.

He needs to go to a real mma gym it he has any hope of resurrecting his career

It was conor's fault for not wearing shinguards. Well partly.

Conor needs to fire SBG. Sounds like they were reckless in preparation if true and allowed Conor to injure himself and step in the cage.

This makes sense. Too bad how you train in camp does factor into the fight; it's not like you can train in the hyperbolic time chamber in some kind of arena closed off from the real world.

Dustin = better conditioning, far more ring time. Deserves the win. McGregor's body could not hold up to striking Poirier's body, Poirier's body withstood all attempts at damaging it and intelligently attacked McGregor's.
