Conor could learn a thing or two from Junior

conors boxing is way better than JDS.

Now only if he had the lungs of the HW and his utilization of efficient punching & energy. JDS may have been point fighting but it was with action, movement, & complete control...

- use the ring
- don't headhunt like a fucking nooblet
- use yer goddamned jab

FREE BONUS lesson:
instead of playing touchbutt, spending hours practicing spinning hook kicks, learn real boxing skill

I agree on all points but using your jab against Nate is fucking stupid as he has one of the best jab catches and returns in the Octagon. I'd actually say to Conor to practise more Thai based kicks and add them to his usual boxing combinations. Something like that leaping lead uppercut then the straight followed up with a heavy leg kick would give a fighter like Nate nightmares.

Although I do agree Conor needs to work on his lead hand his lead hook in particular.

The problem is Conor has to plant to throw any kick.he isn't fluid with them

Conor is a way better fighter than JDS.

When JDS wrestle fuck someone like Holloway who have good TDD, and finish a black belt you can call me.
Oh jeez

When JDS was Conor's age he was in a different league of athleticism. JDS is a big guy who was super fast, very difficult to take down, and impossible to keep down for more than 2 seconds. Conor is a way smaller man who did not even appear to be all that fast against Diaz, the slowest LW maybe in MMA history (not saying he isn't a great fighter, just talking speed). He also looks nearly helpless on the ground at times, whereas JDS would simply burst up to his feet effortlessly even against heavier opponents. Conor might be more skilled in some ways (not even sure of this) but in terms of natural athletic ability, they are in different worlds.

He was faster than Nate in the first round easily.

Conor doesn't have the skills required to outstrike an opponent for 25 minutes. His game has always been to go for the KO. If he can't get it, we've seen what happens.

much easier to do that when fighting smaller dudes. he's not going to have much success outside of 145, especially since he wont work his grappling above a certain point.

That's actually good advice screw that pretty spin sh!t unless you know you can hit, thai based kicking are much more in rhythm with Conor's style.

He may have been. This is what I don't understand though.Who gives a fuck about the first round theirs 5 rounds.Conor didnt even last two.Why don't you guys talk about the fact he got crushed in the second?

Actually they both need to throw a round kick.

Two guys with great boxing that becomes predictable and both have immense talent, adding the best kick for MMA would only make them even more dangerous.

Love to watch both guys fight.

I was just replying to the guy who said Conor didn't appear to be faster than Nate when he clearly was. I agree no point looking at the first round too much as he lost steam and lost the fight. I do think that the first round shows Conor could land on Diaz though, atleast that's a plus.

Totally agree about enveloping his roundhouse and using his lead hook.

And yes, Nate has an excellent jab but for Conor, developing a serviceable roundhouse would be coming farther from behind than dusting off his jab, which I assume is already there given his background. Do you know what I mean?

I think that maybe because he's had it too easy so far in his MMA career, the jab is one of the many skills he has gotten out of the habit of using. He really should though, against Nate and everyone else he might be facing. Simply conceding the jab against someone who is good with it is not a good move..

Nate trains with real boxers, he is a lot ahead of Conor in the boxing department.

He should learn from RDA and chew up his lead leg with kicks.

Diaz out boxes him from second round onwards 9 times out of 10. He needs to change strategy, but he quite simply is a terrible match up for McG.
