Conor appreciation thread

There are other Conor appreciation threads but they're old.
Conor had been losing my respect for all his antics, but IMHO is it takes a lot of balls to go up 2 weight classes and fight anyone at short notice (kudos to Nate in this regard, too).
It was nice seeing him fight someone bigger and with longer reach than him at last. He handled it well at first, but this just isn't the right gameplan against Nate.
And, more importantly, if you want to be trully great, you gotta have a ground game.
Probably Steak McGregor will do better against other opponents at LW and WW.
Will Salad McGregor come back? Smells like WW Rumble to me.

i'm still a huge conor fan. he was beating nate the first round. but as he said, nate ate all of that and had cardio and energy to finish conor. where conor looked like he spent the whole gas tank and his opponent just wouldnt go down. nate is a beast. but i was happy how he was humble in defeat. i think people are going to assume he won't win anymore because his luster is gone, but i don;t see how he wont just pick up where he left off at featherweight. he is still a work in progress, we still have a lot of good moments left to see from Conor.

I appreciate he took this loss like a champ at least compared to how Ronda took it. He made some excuses but don't we all? I think if/when he wins again he will Be right back at it with the trash talk.

Dude... He was scheduled to fight a lightweight and he fought a lightweight. The fact that the guy came in out of shape and incapable of cutting weight because of body fat doesn't make him a real welterweight. He tried WW and got his ass whooped. Hell, this fight could've been at HW but it was still a contest between a LW and a FW/LW.

Plus when you say that he took the fight on late notice... Like you're leaving out that he took an opponent change at late notice, but he already accepted to fight on that date and had been training. Nate took the fight on late notice. Plus Nate was the lowest ranked of all the guys up for the fight!

Look. I think it's really admirable that Conor has a "take on all comers" attitude. I wish that more fighters did, I wish that Jon Jones did against Chael Sonnen, but you can't pretend like Conor had the disadvantages going into this fight. He had nearly every advantage. A loss is a loss and they happen to the best of them. Don't spend your time coming up with excuses for this one cause the man himself didn't. It's about how you respond to it and I have a feeling that Conor will bounce back.

I enjoy Conor, I really do. I would consider myself somewhat of a fan of him. However this loss was for the better. Hopefully now we can see the majority of his annoying pests weeded out.
