Ok so I wanted to let some time pass and let the emotions cool down before I post anything I might regret on Sherdog. So it's been five days since Conner's loss and I'm still butthurt, not as much at McGreggor as with the UFC. I feel like I've been lied to this whole time. They sold him as this Bruce Lee-esque master of movement Celtic badass who's a giant among manlets easily knocking out fools left and right on his way to capturing the title. I wasn't much of a fan at first but the way he dispatched Jose Aldo instantly turned me into a huge supporter. Of course me having some Scottish blood made it pretty easy too.
I thought I finally found a champion to root for. Then Nate Diaz happened. What the heck was that? How can a master of movement lose to a salad eating drug user that can't even talk right? It's a hard pill to swallow, but I have realized that Conner was never that good. He fought smaller guys and got lucky a few times and things went his way until it didn't. Seriously I still can't get over the fact that he lost to a pothead and I just can't in good conscience be a fan of such a blatant UFC hype machine.
