If you were a fighter and came out and said that’s too dangerous of a fight for me and not enough pay... they’ll say you’re scared.

It’s better to play the same business game the UFC plays against the fighters. You gotta remember at the end of the day none of these fighters are scared of anyone else... they just want to be paid at this point.

This concept that contenders have to beg certain fighters to a fight is really toxic. UFC became popular because no fighter was sacrosanct, it was always next man up. No legend was above fighting the top contenders. Your mindset will turn MMA into boxing. The concept that a fighter of Islam’s talent has to “earn” a fight with a guy who’s ranked only 2 spots above him is despicable.

You’re right but theres no use in bitching about it. This is what happens when sports evolve. It’s not been next man up since Conor showed everyone it ain’t about wins but the hype.
