Long story short, the mom is super liberal and doesn't let anyone hold, hug, or kiss the (1-year-old) girl. She's been bragging about teaching her daughter about consent and how she can "choose who she gives affection to and receives it from." My question is, how will she ever learn about affection if she doesn't participate in it? Isn't the lack of physical contact harmful? The kid doesn't walk, crawl, or say words out and I think this is all related somehow.

In all honesty, your buddy inseminated a crazy lady. Make an anonymous call to child protection?

Your thinking is admirable but butt out. Not your kid. Listen to what the mom has to say.

That's messed up. I think babies need people to hug and kiss them, just like they need food and water, biologically speaking.

That's unconditional love my friend. When you worry about a kid that's not even yours. Beats motherly love, which is conditional. Condition being "it's my child"

Who said anything about unconditional love? I’m just suggesting TS accept that this Mom is bat shit and has full authority over the treatment of her child.

Maybe it's just I really don't get this generation's parenting style. It seems so weird and foreign.... my kids were hugged and kissed and held and they turned out fine. A bit on the angsty and brooding side, but other than that

Sounds like the kids being raised by SJW and thats terrible, but its not your family and you should stay well out of it, this has bad news written all over it for you if you try to get involved.

That mother needs to be slapped. That daughter will grow up to become . . .

i wouldn't take this as an entire generation's way of parenting. this is like, one lone loon lol.

anyways, not really anything you can do about it. it's dumb tbh. i hope at least she herself shows the child plenty of love.

My nephew is about to have his first child. They live in California. The doctor told the mother that the baby should not come into contact with anyone who has not been vaccinated for various things. WTF. When did doctors start with this 'do not touch the baby unless you are vaccinated' shit? How is the body suppose to grow a defense mechanism (immune system) against bacteria and viruses? The baby will need to go out in public eventually.

Children need affection.

This is moronic. Kid will grow up being extremely off
