Compilation of Fighters' Cage Weight

Just move everyone up a weight class and profit

Then they would just cut to that weight.

Best believe that unless you change the actual system, they’ll just put on some mass and do the exact same thing, but be the exact amount of the jump heavier on fight night

If you want to contribute, include your source for a fighters' cage weight and I'll update the thread accordingly.

Thank You. Great research.

So the source for Jones' weight is an embedded episode that is before the fight? It is pretty clear that he's not in the cage when he weighs in. It is a bit ridiculous to believe that Jones only cuts 10 pounds.

Added Gustafsson (220 lbs).

It's his weight 5 days out from weigh in, long before any water is cut. Chuck Liddell used to cut 10-11 lbs as well. Jones cutting that much isn't that surprising given how small his legs are.

That can't be good for the old organs.

Sure cost him in the past...

"I was fortunate to have had a successful wrestling career in college, and finished fourth in freestyle wrestling at the 2004 Olympics. But when I had a legitimate opportunity to medal in 2008, I had been forced to withdraw due to kidney failure from a major weight cut. It was my fault, and I wasn’t as professional as I should have been. (I did make weight, though, and I’m very proud of that.)"

The date on the twitter post: March 1st, 2015.
She mentions the picture was taken after her Sunday breakfast, and March 1st of 2015 was a Sunday.
She fought February 27, 2015; that's 3 days prior to the date of the picture.

Added Ortega (164 lbs).

Why is that ridiculous? Have you seen his legs? And yes, he's broad-shouldered, but it's not like Jones is rippling with muscle.

Good on you! Bask in the Internet glory. I’m about to drive home and fuck my wife.

Added Dodson's weight (152.4 lbs) when he competed at Flyweight, will add his weight at Bantamweight when I can find the number.

Common sense and sex aren't mutually exclusive.

Just curious how do you remeber what a fighter posts from years ago and how many days after a fight the pic was taken?

I googled certain keywords to find Cyborg's weight and checked the date of her closest fight. I didn't write the original post off the top of my head <45>.

Added Covington's weight (182 lbs).

Edit: More recent source has Covington at 180 lbs, updated the original post accordingly.

I disagree completely, there's a lot of people who struggle making 155 who are already stuck in-between 2 weights. The guys who pass over 170 for 160 still have 2 options now. The one's stuck between 155-170 don't. I don't care about weight-cutting as much as I care about fights and titlefights NOT being cancelled. Raising the weights by 5 lbs does more good than not doing anything or introducing a 165 lb division.

The guys competing at 170 are in their 180s, the chances of them trying to fight 160 are slim. But the guys at 155 are in their 170s and fitting into 160 (instead of 155) helps a lot.

And raising every weight class will somehow, magically, eliminate everyone that is "between" two weight classes? Your plan will not stop weight cutting one bit - it will just lead to some guys not cutting as much and some guys cutting more.

Just get rid of weight cuts and move everyone up a class. Almost all of the men's divisions are really close to the next class up after rehydration.
